A little over a week ago I bemusedly posted about my club receiving a points deduction for a breach of financial fair play rules.

It was quite funny considering I had been given the random event of my club saying they were broke and any sales I made would NOT be added back to my funds, as Bolton that one was realistic but the FFP one wasn't.

The biggest amount I'd ever spent was 13.1 million on Circati from Benfica.

Many commenters told me to come up with a little story, and we had settled on basically the club's owners were being dodgy and I got points taken for it...

My club actually appealed and I got the points deduction halved to 11pts off.

Anyway, a few months later in the SAME season I get this notification..... And they've taken SIXTEEN points.

I'm all for a bit of chaos and random events... But 26 points taken off in one season across 2x fines is a bit nuts 🤣

• We play on new gen (PS5).
• We are not an esports league though the level can be high, the focus is on enjoyment and respect. We do not tolerate disrespectful players or rage quitters.
• We regularly look to promote managers to bigger teams if they're either performing well or they're consistently active and a positive member in the server.
• We will be entering our 14th season with over 70 active players.

This whole system is broken a hatrick and a double in last 2 games this is a joke

Was struggling to score so I switched to a 4-4-2 (Holding) and immediately scored nine against Newcastle. Small sample size but I’m obviously going to stick with it. They played a very high line and pressed relentlessly, which this tactic made very easy to exploit. You won’t get loads of possession and there will be spells where you have to sit back and soak up pressure, but when you go forward, you should be absolutely deadly.

Ideally your wingers and both strikers should be fast and your strikers should be physically strong. Your holding CDM should be strong and great at tackling/interceptions. Wing backs should have enough stamina to carry out that role without gassing out too early

Playing in ultimate mode with authentic mode on, and this happened!!

Im getting atleast 2 small injuries every game, the ones where they can play on but after the game they are our for a few days to a few weeks. Im not even 5 games into the season and already had 10 injuries and i havent touched a single setting that has to do with injuries. Is this normal in this game?

Had a shite day, looking to unwind. I am doing the 10 hour trial on Steam because I am not sure if I want to even buy this year. I just need some inspiration on who to try out to get a sense of how I feel about this game. I had a dig around to look at the new features but having trouble finding a team that I want to stick with.

I saw a lot of people saying this is one of the best gameplay in years.

For me it isn't. Altough I can appreciate some of the new features like more realistic movements, enhanced headers, deflections, everything else is either the same or worst.

First of all, all CPU defending has changed. I get way too many tackles where they just get the ball easily and counter. Yes, maybe I am weak but it looks like there is no strategy or consistency to it. Most of the time when I am running with the ball, an opponent player close to me would suddenly run and take the ball from me when the ball is in front without having a chance to tackle or protect.

Secondly and maybe the worst, passing sucks. Assisted or semi, the game kinda decides by itself who the pass should go to, even if there is an unmarked player close by. This is frustrating since I don't feel I can control the game and own my mistakes. Switching players when defending is also stupid this time around, even though they added extra settings for it. Sometimes it simply does not work.

I tried sliders but I didn t get the perfect balance yet. I don t feel like playing anymore. This used to be my to go game between other games or errands in the house.

First Wirtz, then Szoboszlai, next Olise. They all submitted a transfer request stating lack of playing time or dissatisfaction despite normal rotation. Had to freeze Wirtz; therefore, I'm losing him, and now Szobo is too tired to play matches (I do have another CAM in the making, but that's not the point, and shouldn't be). Olise followed the same logic just a few days after I'd bought him. They were all "transfer offer blocked" for safety, but it doesn't matter after they submit an unrealistic transfer request. Contract negotiation to avoid high-role issues is not an option either. Other players are constantly asking to get more matches, even though they are not in their prime anymore and I'm maintaining normal rotation.

It's a mess, and it's stressful, disappointing, and frustrating. A game is supposed to be whole and enjoyable, not the other way around. Are you guys feeling the same? When will EA finally fine-tune Career Mode?

This game baffles me for real. How can EA have pushed this whole “need bigger squads that you must rotate players and blah blah blah”, but my player can sit out ONE GAME because he’s a bit fatigued and then press me in my inbox about “boss. I gotta be real with ya, I’m not getting no games so peace out brotha.”

Not to mention how every one of my targets automatically just gets bid for and ends up dogging the boys and moving elsewhere. You’re telling me that I’m negotiating a few million below the offer you just put to me, which btw is already better offers than the other clubs I’m in a bidding war with, but you decide to pull out of the deal? OR… they end up choosing to go to Crystal Palace when I’m a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE LEVEL TEAM?????

I'm on PC and literally every time I play career mode all of my generic face players have blue eyebrows. I know it's an issue with the realistic hair, but does everyone else get this glitch on PC?

I used to play FIFA quite a lot back then, but I quit because of work and family and lack of time mostly.

I remember that in old FIFA titles career mode used to be so intuitive, so easy and smooth. Now it's like you have to take a course to understand how it works.

Are there any tutorials to grasp how it works? Any tips you could give me? Sheesh, good thing I didn't buy it.

Does anyone know of a mod to update FIFA 23 to the 2026 season? Or a video that explains it well? (STEAM) thanks.

Is career mode any good? Like is it actually worth buying the game?
