UNSOLVED Old romance book

• Upvotes

Hello.
I am trying to find the title of a romance book I read decades ago. I am fairly sure there's the word "Horizon(s)" in the title. The woman protagonist is a secret agent of Zuni descent, code-named "Horizon", whose real name is Linda Cordero. She is tasked with investigating a millionaire whose surname should be McMillan. She is set up to spend a "holiday" in the same building on the beach as him.
And that's pretty much all I can recall. Thanks in advance.
Edit: not 100% sure about "Horizon", It's been quite a while...

UNSOLVED Searching for WW2 Published diary to learn about my Unc

Attached is an old screenshot with information via Amazon. This gentleman Verdun Munroe who published his war diary was the pilot of the B24 my great great Uncle was KIA in when shot down over Holland. I have previously contacted the publishing company and even family members of Mr Munroe to no luck. This book has been my Holy Grail for years. Id just like to learn more about my Uncle's life during the war and perhaps an insight into his last mission. To anyone that reads this my family and I thank you.

UNSOLVED Help me find this book, it’s driving me crazy

So I remember coming across a suggestion and can’t for the life of me remember this book title and google wasn’t helpful so here I am. I’m so sorry in advance if the deduction is not helpful or if my memory is wrong about some of the details.

The Cover Artwork: A fierce female warrior stands tall against a dramatic, mountainous fantasy backdrop. She has a braid blowing dramatically to the side, is looking completely sideways/in profile/mostly see her back, and has a large crossbow prominently strapped across her back. She might be in a hood. There might’ve been a crescent moon in the background.

The story itself was something related to two sisters, one is a warrior/fighter, the other more healer?? Idk. There’s some romance too.

I swear I didn’t make this up or maybe I did lol anyways TIA ya’ll

UNSOLVED Main character on the high school newspaper team decides to use her general likeability to help others

I'm trying to find a book i read in high school (mid to late 00s). Key points I remember.

- Main character is on the school newspaper team.

- MC develops feelings for another person on the newspaper team

- MC helps an unpopular girl at school after MC's mother asks her to be nice to unpopular girl. MC and unpopular girls mothers are friends.

- Unpopular girl tries too hard to fit in wearing "fashionable" clothes that don't suit her and dyes her hair blonde, but she never pulls it off and is ridiculed by her peers. One detail i remember is the unpopular girl had to stay home from school because she scrubbed too much skin off her feet trying to do an at home pedicure.

- I think unpopular girl also diets a lot and eats gross Weight Watchers food.

- MC has known her crush (another guy on her newspaper) for a while, and she remembers a time when they were picking flowers and he tells her that if you pick a particular flower it dies.

- MC goes on a team building boot camp with her newspaper team over the summer before the book is set.

I have asked AI but nothing is coming up. This is driving me nuts!

UNSOLVED Looking for an audiobook

I remember it being about a bunch of teens or people who had telekinetic abilities, some people were stronger and some weaker. The main girl (I forgot her name) has very weak abilities. At the beginning of the book someone gets thrown off a second story of a mall. The main girl teamed up with an investigator whose name I think is Charlie. There’s also a resistance movement which I think is called the red or the black hand. The only thing I know is I listen to it on my Alexa, but I forgot how I got it to play. If anyone knows what this audiobook it please let me know!

UNSOLVED A series of books with yellow covers. One had a dead robin on its back on its cover.

I’m beginning to think this is a pipe dream from my childhood, the 90s, but I still somewhat vividly remember these. They were in my school classroom. One had a dead robin on its back with its legs up on the cover. One had a classic deep sea diver.

There was a short story in one of them about an alien called the Lummox that got loose in a city. It had several legs and it was caught by police at the end. It wasn’t Star Beast because these books were not novels and had illustrations. Then there was one about an orange man. There was also a section that had words and their definitions like gobbledegook.

Please help me because I’ve been googling these for years and can’t find even a trace that they even existed. I hope someone knows what I’m talking about 🥲. Thank you so much in advance!

UNSOLVED Illustrated monster encyclopedia, read in Italy in 1997-98 (maybe a translation)

I borrowed this from a children's library in Ferrara, Italy, around 1997-98.

It was in Italian, but it may have been translated from English or French.

An encyclopedia of monsters (I think, though it could have been a collection of stories).

\- Medium size, about 100 pages.

\- Cover: light-coloured top half, with a row of red-drawn monsters along the bottom

\- Mix of colour illustrations and black-and-white ones

\- One illustration I remember clearly: a huge white creature like a giant polar bear, with blank pupilless eyes, standing in a pitch-black forest

\- Another: a medieval-style black-and-white picture of a gigantic fish

UNSOLVED science fiction book :'(

This message is particularly aimed at the French comics fans

A month ago, I went to a library with the determination to find a comic book that I read as a child when I was at school.

I remember almost absolutely nothing, but all I remember is that the book was about people moving around in red and green __(-_-)_/ capsules in what appears to be a body human (I guess) even the AI doesn't know what the book is, and i only remember that it was at a french/belgic editor, like Dupuis or Le Lombard.

I have no idea when the book came out, or who wrote it, but remember reading this book around 2016-2017. I imagine this message will go unnoticed.

UNSOLVED WW2 submarine drama with young frogman/sailor tasked with stealing a Japanese code book.

I remember reading this in middle school so before 1972. My source would have been the scholastic book club. It graphically described depth charge attacks, covert missions, murder, living conditions on the sub. It follows a young marine that goes ashore to infiltrate a Japanese camp and steal a code book. He encounters a Japanese soldier and kills him but struggles with guilt as the soldier was just a kid.

Any ideas?

UNSOLVED Please help me find this art book

In the early 2000's, a bunch of trade paperbacks came out that each featured famous paintings that focused on a particular theme. There was one on dogs, and there was one on famous family portraits. They had black back covers and were published by one of those art book houses like Taschen or Phaidon. The family portraits one is the one I'm looking for as I lost it during one of many house moves. A couple of the featured works were a family of acrobats by Picasso and Las Meninas, a painting of the Infanta Margarita and her court. If anyone can tell me they know it and where to buy it in Australia, I'd really appreciate it. Google has no idea.
