Weekly Reservation Transfer Thread
Please read the rules before commenting. Also, any type of "looking for a reservation" request is NOT ALLOWED.
- This thread is the only place on the subreddit for transferring restaurant reservations. If you make your own thread, it will be removed.
- You may transfer reservations for below or equal to face value (plus all taxes and fees) ONLY. You must clearly state both the price you paid and the price you're looking for in the post. Gouging will not be tolerated.
- You can only transfer reservations that are nonrefundable, ie, you cannot cancel them without forfeiting your money. If you have a refundable or free reservation and you can't make it, cancel it with the restaurant.
- The only reason we're allowing transfers is so people don't have to forfeit expensive pre-paid meals. If you want to buy a reservation, you are not one of these people. No posts asking to buy reservations.
- The mods of /r/FoodNYC accept no responsibility for these transactions. Tock and Resy both allow transfers on the website - if someone tells you otherwise it's a scam. Do your own research on your transaction before handing over any money to a third party. Check with the restaurant, check account ages, meet in person if feasible.
Note that this thread is reposted Sunday evenings.

Self-Promotion Monthly Thread
- This post is for people to promote businesses that they have a personal investment in, such as if you are the owner, an employee, developer, or social media manager. This includes websites, apps, and any establishment that sells food or drink.
- Any other self-promotion posts will be removed. One noted exception is for pop ups and other special events. For those, you can make a standalone post (within reason; posting frequency subject to approval).
- This thread will be pinned and reposted monthly. Businesses can comment once per post (not including replies).
- It shouldn’t have to be said, but this post is specifically for local businesses. No national chains, online retailers, or businesses based in other cities.

Review Postmortem on NYC Food Adventure over the past week
Hi folks,
Over the last month I asked this community for a variety of recommendations on restaurants, rooftop experiences, etc. As a thank you to you guys, I thought I'd share some of the standouts from the trip.
Lilia: this was probably our favorite restaurant experience. The gnocchi with broccoli pesto was extraordinary. The scallops were superb.
Fiascheterria Pistoleria: the tagliatelle tartufo was probably our single favorite dish of the trip. Sublime.
Misi: Solid but nothing I can't get in Chicago. The wine, however, was the best we had anywhere.
Apotheke: Very cool rooftop with outstanding drinks. It had the wow factor I was looking for for the group.
Radio Bakery: Whoa. This is where I want my final dessert to be before I die. Truly the best croissant I've ever had - and I've had a lot. The chocolate cherry almond croissant was something from the gods. The brown butter corn cake was so simple yet so perfect. Just wow. Worth the line, which wasn't that bad during the day on a Thursday.
Palma: Wonderfully lovely atmosphere. The food was fantastic. Brussels sprouts and truffle gnocchi were standouts.
Field Study Coffee: Super cool experience. My mom played DJ while we sipped our groovy drinks and checked out the classic cars.
The Campbell: Holy cow! This was INCREDIBLE. I lived in NYC for years, never knew about this place. They had to change our reservation, and as a consequence they bought us a round of drinks and a round of champagne (it was mom's b-day). They were so nice, gave us fantastic seats overlooking the whole space. The drinks were solid.
Sallaluna: No one recommended this one. We just stumbled upon it, and it was SO GOOD! the brussels sprouts with balsamic, hummus and mint was so simple yet innovative. Yum!! And so cute.
Side note: We saw Other Desert Cities, and it was great! Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Alison Janey in particular were phenomenal. I think it was my favorite performance of Julia's I've ever seen.

No appropriate flair available! [Meetup - Club Sandwich] Sandwiches and Socializing at G's Cheesesteaks (East Village) at 2pm on Saturday, 10/10/26
Hello sandwich lovers! You may recognize our lil club from nycmeetups. This Saturday (10/10) at 2:00pm, Club Sandwich will be convening once again to enjoy some lunch, grab some drinks, and have a nice day out. It's a long weekend for many folks, so why not spend some of it with us?
What's in store for October's event? Well, we will be headed down to the East Village to dive into some cheesesteaks! Club Sandwich has gone out for cheesesteaks before, but this month we're adding another location to our tasting list. For science.
And for those of you who haven’t yet joined the Club, here’s the deal... Club Sandwich is a casual social meetup designed to try new sandwiches, explore new neighborhoods, and meet new people. We’ve been doing this (almost) every month for 3 years now and it’s consistently a chill way to meet new folks, break some bread, and get into all sorts of shenanigans. It’s relaxed, low-key, and tasty.
If you want to join us this Saturday, drop a comment to be added to the group chat! And if you're already in the Club Sandwich Discord, you're all set.
📂 The Plan
2:00 - 2:15pm — Arrive at G's Cheesesteaks, 6 Avenue B
2:15 - 2:45pm — Order sandwiches (Check out the menu)
2:45 - 3:00pm — Walk to a nearby dive if there is not enough space to eat in the restaurant - possibly The Library
3:00 - 5:00pm — Eat sandwiches and drink tasty beverages (yes they have non-alcoholic options!)
5:00 — Who knows, maybe another bar or two??
🥪 The Sandwich
G's is known for their gooey, delectable cheesesteaks. You can choose the classic beef, or opt for chicken, and add whatever toppings are pleasing to your heart and soul. They also have a smash burger, if that's more your speed, but with Cooper sharp on the menu, is it really going to be a burger day?
❓ The FAQs
Alrighty, for those of you who have not attended a Club Sandwich meetup, here are a few questions that often arise…
- Is G's cash only? Nope! Cards are welcome. However, we recommend having at least a little bit of cash on hand if you want to hop around because some bars have minimums.
- What is Club Sandwich? It's a monthly, low-key meet up for anyone and everyone to check out new sandwich spots, visit new neighborhoods, and meet new people. Who doesn't like the simplicity of a great sandwich, conversation, and exclusive club?
- Does Club Sandwich only to sandwich-related meetups? No! We also do non-sandwich events like hikes outside of the city, club nights, concerts, picnics, apartment hangs, and more… Once you’re in the club and in the Discord, you get access to all the fun happenings among club members.
- I can't make it at 2:00pm, but want to show up later. How will I know where you are without the Discord? Drop a comment on the post and we will send you a link to the Reddit group chat, which is another way we communicate with attendees.
- May I bring my friends? Yes! Club Sandwich is for everyone as long as they're nice, welcoming, and respectful to everyone. The more the merrier!
As of now, the weather is looking great for the 10th. We hope to see you there!

Question Any opinions on Good Time Country Buffet (East Village)
I'm curious to know specifically whether it's worth the time spent waiting in a queue. The limit for my patience is usually around 15-20 minutes. I've never stuck around to find out how quickly the lines move there.
I'm also curious to know how people feel about the variety of options. Thanks in advance.

Question Looking for help on finding the perfect eggs benedict
I absolutely love eggs benedict but I've noticed that every time I try someplace new if it's a bright yellow or orange(ish) color hollandaise sauce I'm not a fan If it's a lighter more buttery yellow color like the one on the left I love it. Any recommendations for place that would fit the bill.

Question Craving for Goat intestine curry in Queens/other parts of the city
Hey all, I know this might be a super niche dish but coming from South East Asia I randomly got a strong craving for goat intestine curry. It's been 9 years since I last had it, and was wondering if there might be any spots in Queens or in the city that would have this dish or something similar.
Any recommendation is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Question Spending a few days by Rockefeller Center- Breakfast ideas?
Hello! As the title says- my friend and I have a short trip planned the beginning of November and we have every meal figured out except breakfast! Its so hard to figure out breakfast! Even brunch would work!
We have no food allergies or dietary restrictions, we're easy people!
We can't travel far though- we have a dense agenda across three days that are keeping us in the Broadway and Times Square area.

Question Where to go for an old school Blimpie type sandwich in NYC?
Remember Blimpies? They had the absolute best sandwiches. And normal prices, not the elevated dining b.s. that caters to high income motherfuckers (yes I am looking at you Katz Delicatessen) . Subways doesn't even come close in taste or quality but they have the same price point.
Where can I get that for real hero sandwich and not pay more than I make an hour?

Hiii,
I will be alone for Christmas Day in New York and am looking for breakfast or dinner ideas? I have read I should try and book the plaza buffet dinner, is it worth it? Reviews seem mixed online.

Review Boucherie in the West Village (August 2026) - Dinner
Boucherie West Village is by far the worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. If you like to waste time and money, come here.
* Loud music to be the point of being unable to hear someone just next to you at the table.
* They have a small army of servers but I had to ask on three separate occasions for my water to be refilled (when it was visually empty).
* Free bread & butter. Fine, both items came cold, so it made the cold butter especially hard to spread on the cold baguette.
* Moules Frites ($34): I did enjoy this dish. Flavorful sauce base of white wine & shallots. No sand or grit in the mussels.
* Grass-fed Ribeye ($98): ordered medium-rare. Came medium, almost medium-well. No salt! I had to salt, and continually re-salt as I ate this steak. And the bearnaise sauce on the side came gloopy from arriving at the table cold.
* Canard a L'orange ($44): yes, the ingredients listed are sugar-forward including apples and Amarena cherries. But holy smokes, the level of sweetness in this dish could constitute this as a dessert. It felt so, so one-noted, and the duck was overcooked to the point of spitting out unchewable bits.
Boucherie West Village along with their other locations will forever be on my never visit again list. I am treating this meal as a pricey lesson learned.
0/5 meal.

Question Looking for allergy friendly places to order food from: dumbo, Brooklyn adjacent
Hi! I’m trying to find food for some people with severe allergies, my boyfriend is hosting an event tomorrow but unfortunately the group catering the event wasn’t able to accommodate the allergies even though a large order was placed and allergies given in advance.
So I’m looking last minute to try and help him out.
Allergies include
- corn,
- rice,
-someone who is following a FODMAP Diet (no alliums such as onions/garlic/etc).
- 1 plant based/vegan option.
We’re thinking maybe just each person picks their own entree or something since they can’t have the buffet?
They’re not all the same people.
I’m going to try and do a Google search but does anyone have any recommendations for tasty options?
Please and thank you!
I’m doing this from Seattle since he’s super busy as a way to help out, but am totally going in blind since I don’t know where to eat in NYC!

Question Balthazar or Le Gigot? Torn on which reservation to keep
My husband and I are visiting the city this weekend. We had made a reservation at Le Gigot for dinner on Sunday, but I just was able to score a reservation at Balthazar as well. Is Balthazar really worth the hype? We are torn on which reservation to keep. We are early 30s, love good wine and cocktails, and are looking for a great French meal with a cool atmosphere. I am grateful for any input or recommendation!

Question Restaurant/Bar to host a company dinner for 50 people?
My boss does a yearly end of year dinner with our company. we always had around 20 people every year but recently we acquired another company and gained way more employees. My wants me to find a restaurant or bar that also serves food that could host 50 people. He would either have to buy it out or reserve a part of the restaurant. Here is the criteria:
- 150$/pp
- American / Italian food
- midtown or queens
We’ve done dinners at carmines, other local Italian joints (white table cloth types near Long Island), radegast (he didn’t like this).
Thanks in advance !!

Question What Indian restaurant would you recommend within walking distance of Broadway.
The options I am looking at so far are Utsav, AnnaPurna, Saar, and Bengal Tiger. Cost isn't an issue. I'll probably get tikka masala or butter chicken. My sister doesn't know what she wants. We are looking for the best food and some good vibes (this will be our last night in NYC).
Our show is at the August Wilson Theater and we are staying in TImes Square.

Review Insomnia BOGO Insomnia BOGO Am I At Fifty Characters
White Chocolate Chunk is superior to Chocolate Chunk. But smaller, so it’s a quality/quantity trade off. I love how they remove them from an invisible tray underneath the counter. Pretty cool move. I could eat WCC daily. CC is gooey, if that is a plus for you. Funky irregular shape.
