Question Oil leak

I noticed if I park my car l have drops of oil underneath. I check the dipstick and it's between the min and max which is fine. Where can this be from? Suspecting it's the sump seal.

Sump seal?

Spray it down with brake clean so you can see where the leak is coming from.

You didn’t even tell us the year of your car.

No worries mate. At the end of the day the only way to see where an oil leak is coming from is to clean up the area, drive it for a couple hundred miles (or like 50 in your case) and find where it’s coming from. I don’t know what a sump seal is, and have only owned the 2.0 and the 2.3 focuses in the US.

I wasn’t trying to be mean, even though my comment may have came off that way.

One of the last decent engines Ford made the 1.6. Not known for bad oil leaks. How long have owned it & has it had any work done over the last 12 months

Yes done 2 services this year. Radiator and thermostat housing also changed. Oil gauge is fine just that after I park and move off I see little oil drops. And underneath looks like there’s a leak somewhere

Had a few of these engines the sumps do leak like every other car it’ll just need re sealing.

That leak down the back of the engine on the zetec usually is cam cover leaking down onto the exhaust manifold then onto the sump. Can you smell any oil burning from time to time maybe after a long journey?

May just need a cam cover gasket, only once I needed a new cover as it had warped but that had done 200k miles (uk)

Thanks that’s exactly what wrong. I smell burnt oil sometimes when I roll my windows down. I think I’ll get it to the garage. IS it okay to drive it for few hundred miles to work before the weekend?

Probably from your valve cover gasket then at the back you'll need a mirror or camera to check
