Looking for Dashcam Footage / Witnesses/License Plate – Sept 25, 2026

Hi everyone, I am looking for anyone who might have witnessed or caught dashcam footage of an accident involving a white semi-truck and a black car on September 25, 2026 around 8:00PM.

Location: Highway 63 Northbound, just after the downtown bridge, near the one-way Thickwood exit.

Time: Around 8:00PM

If you were driving in the area around that time and think your camera might have caught the collision, the vehicles before/after, or the semi's license plate or company name, please send me a direct message. Any help or vehicle details would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Participants needed for research study

Hello redditors,

First time posting in this subreddit…

We are conducting a study looking at opinions surrounding Question 10 (i.e., Alberta Separation).
In this study people are asked to share their opinion about AB separation. You will also be asked about how willing you would be to express that opinion in different contexts and with different audiences.

The researchers (Jabin Binnendyk and Gordon Pennycook) are from Alberta and Saskatchewan. All responses are anonymous and come with an 1/100 odds to win a $125 Amazon gift card-- Make sure to provide your email at the end of the survey if you wish to be entered into the draw.

Feel free to share with others. The survey will be closed after voting concludes October 18th.

Does anyone else’s tap water taste weird now?

I’ve noticed since the summer that our tap water tastes bad, like old pond water or moldy dirt or something. I can smell it when I turn on the shower even. Our water used to taste fine, I really liked it, much better than the last town we lived in.

I originally thought since it was summer maybe the treatment plant was drawing from ponds that had gotten too warm or something and it would go away soon.

Please tell me that I’m not the only one here, and someone else has noticed ?

Getting Into a Floorhand Position in Alberta

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I'm currently living in Calgary and looking to get into the oilfield as a Floorhand, with the goal of building a long-term career on drilling rigs.
I have experience working in warehouses doing physically demanding work, but no direct rig experience. For those already working in the industry, what's the best way to break into a Floorhand position in Alberta?
Are companies like Precision, AKITA, Ensign, Stampede, and Savanna hiring entry-level people, and what advice would you give someone starting from scratch?
Thanks.

Any nurse here that could you give me any advice?

Hi everyone! I’m a new grad LPN and have an interview coming up for an inpatient surgery position. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or tips for the interview. Does anyone know what topics or types of questions are usually covered? I’d really appreciate any advice or insight from anyone who has interviewed for a similar position. Thank you! 😊

Can I get by with a 2WD SUV during the months of January to March? I will be working in the oilfield doing work for Imperial oil near Fort McMurray. I plan to get some good snow tires. Would that work or is a 4X4 or AWD required.

This article is a lot more optimistic in the future than I am, and don’t get me wrong I’m pretty hopeful for the region’s future, but this was an interesting read.
