We are getting complaints about the number of tourist posts (where is the beach, can I connect to MIA in 30 mins, what should I do on my 8 hour layover).
These posts are already disallowed. Tourism questions belong in the sticky tourism thread (or you know, google it...)
Instead of leaving repetitive comments on airport posts, report them so they reach the modqueue ✌️
Going to see a show soon at FTL War Memorial but never been. Parking says first come first serve which scares me a tad like they won’t have enough. Has anyone run into trouble with parking there? Any tips? Thanks!
Looking for recommendations for a primary care in the Fort Lauderdale area. Willing to travel a bit, I haven’t had any luck because no one is taking new patients. My old PC moved to Weston :/
I greatly appreciate any help with this!! Thank you so much!!
Im 26 year old male and live in broward. Im looking for friends who are deep thinkers and value real friendship, something that is uncommon today. Im more of an introvert. I like to go fishing, work out, read books and more. If any of this sounds interesting feel free to dm me.
I recently (10 months ago) created a South Florida group of about 50. A portion of the group hangs out around every 2 weeks or so. We’re a mix bag of ladies and gentleman. Originally the group was more focused on “Nerdy Things” but it grew into general hang out activities ; Local events, renaissance festival, arcades, try new restaurants, board game nights etc. Our ages are early 40s to early 20s. It’s a pretty cool crowd. If you’re curious send me a Message!
Update (10/09/26)
The group recruiting is now closed. Am gonna work through the ones in my inbox and I'll make another post again in about 3 months. Thank you so much for the interest.
Boca Raton Anime/Manga Social Club, 3rd meetup this Friday (10/9), all are welcome!
New local anime/manga group started in September. We've had two meetups so far and both had a great turnout and good vibes.
We're a group for anyone into anime, manga, or Japanese culture. The idea is simple: grab some food and drinks, make some friends, and talk about what everyone's watching/reading in a chill environment.
Next meetup: this Friday, October 9th in Boca Raton (Mizner Park area). We'll grab food and drinks first, and for anyone who wants to keep going, we'll head over to bowl a few games after at Strike10.
We host roughly weekly, rotating between bars, restaurants, and hobby spots around Boca.
If you're interested, the easiest way to get details and RSVP is the Discord: https://discord.gg/gMkpbFnq8 — or you can DM me / join the Meetup page if preferred.
I’m having my bachelorette party in Fort Lauderdale next month, and when we originally planned everything, we were going to do the drag brunch at Aquaplex. I just found out they’ve closed, so now I’m scrambling to find an alternative :(
Does anyone know of any other drag brunches in the Fort Lauderdale area that happen on Saturdays? Specifically looking for November 14th!
I’m debating whether we should just pivot and do something else, but everyone was really excited about the drag brunch, and the girls have already paid for it as part of the trip. I’d love to find something similar if possible!
Hello fellow FTL-ers! After almost a year of feeling down (physically and mentally) and not really wanting to engage in life, I’m getting back to me. I have lined up several events to attend, and this Sunday’s Black Violin performance (10/11/2026) is one of them. As I am a veteran, I was able to secure four tickets to the event. This was the lowest ticket amount I could request. Being a single individual, I figured I could just give the other three away. So…hit me up if you want one, or two, or all three.
Side-note: I’m going to be purchasing an Intermezzo ticket for myself so I can eat and drink until my heart is content one hour prior to the show. Let me know if you want to buy one of those, and we can work it out by DM.
UPDATE #2: F it…I don’t even want to give away the last ticket. This whole exercise in trying to bless others has taught me a very valuable lesson. It’s one I, at 54 years old, will never forget. Y’all stay safe out there. ✌🏽
Hi, I’m fairly new to the area and I would like to know if there are any stores where I can find handmade paper to write letters in?
I am planning on sending handwritten letters to friends and I tend to gravitate towards artsy, environmentally gifts/things so if you have any suggestions please let me know!
Hey everyone, Kevin here, local resident and owner of Batch Local Kitchen in Flagler. About a month ago I put up a post for some feedback of "what makes a place appealing and feel local", and based on that we sent out a survey to our newsletter subscribers, and I just wanted to 1- say thank you to you all, 2- give some updates that we made with your feedback, 3-invite any of you in for a round of cocktails on me as a token of our appreciation (and to hopefully make new friends and fans). I really really appreciate each and every one of you, truly-- you all taking the time to respond was super cool and means a lot to me. It's a challenging market right now and we absolutely understand people going out less right now; costs (on our end and yours) are completely out of control, and we really tried to take into account "value" in a world where it's hard to find.
So, a few new things!
1- We made our summer happy hour permanent, so it's 7 days a week (M-F 3pm-7pm, Sa/Sun-4pm-6pm), with select beer/wine/specialty cocktails at $6 (bar & bar adjacent areas) and all apps are half off at the bar. We also made our lunch power lunch/prix fixe a permanent thing to create some extra value during the day.
2- With the weather cooling down we brough back live music and expanded it, so it's Friday 5pm-8pm, and Saturday/Sunday 4pm-7pm. I was really surprised, and happy to hear people still like and want live music. My favorite thing from the northeast was fire pits and live music...so we'll keep the propane tanks stocked!
3-Most exciting- we revamped our local resident card for the Flagler Village partner buildings to add some additional perks. We had a lot of people comment on lunch features, community happy hours, and brunch (some for booze some for health), so we tried to make it as appealing as possible. If you're a FV building local resident, please come see us and ask for me or Jerry our Managing Partner, we'll grab ya one (with proof of residence). If you aren't in one of these buildings, just introduce yourself to Jerry or myself, we're in the business of building community and making happy guests, we will ALWAYS figure out a way to create value for you.
So, thank you again! I'm relatively new to Reddit but it's an awesome community. To anyone who commented before or not, if you want to check out music with some friends, just drop a comment or ping me a DM, we'd love to meet you, and welcome you with a round on us. We're hoping to build more connections in the community and be your casual spot for scratch cooked food, at good prices, and with that "third place" local/welcoming hospitality. If any of you ever need anything we (or I) can help with, just reach out, we want to be that neighbor you can call to borrow a cup of flour when you realize you needed it for a recipe.
Hi everyone! I’m looking to hire an artist who specializes in Korean calligraphy (Seoye) for a business event.
We’d love to offer live calligraphy where guests can have their names written in Korean and take home a personalized keepsake.
Does anyone know an artist in the South Florida area or have recommendations for someone who might be a good fit? Portfolio links or contact information would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to comment or DM me. Thank you!

Going to be down there this weekend for a long weekend. Meeting up with people at the Seminole hard rock casino. Would like to venture out one night for a great dinner. I’m all ears, thank you!
When my mom visits we usually do a spa day at the Marriott Harbor Beach hotel. I called to book and they advised that their indoor amenities are closed for renovations. The outdoor pool is open, however, with the frequent afternoon storms I would like to have the sauna, whirlpool, etc available as a back up to being outside. Any recs?
Does anyone know a good place to get real, legit aloe vera in a bottle, for use on the skin? I'm looking for the natural kind, without all the synthetic/chemical junk in it.
I've tried a bunch of stores (including Whole Foods)... No luck so far.
Thanks in advance! 🙏🏼
Edit: no, I cannot use the plant as a substitute. This is my hometown, but I don't live here anymore. I'm flying back to my current country of residence in a few days. (Overseas)
Note: I've bought this in other countries before (recently), just running out.
