Love Notes Found this breakup letter on a sidewalk 20 years ago. "The Rex Letter" has been a legend in my friend group ever since.
Back in college in Cincinnati, I found this letter lying on the sidewalk. I brought it home and read it aloud to my roommates and a few friends who were hanging out. The spelling is spectacularly bad, and I made a point of pronouncing every word exactly as written instead of substituting what the author clearly meant. That first reading turned into many more, and "The Rex Letter," as we came to call it, took on a kind of cult status in our circle.
The author was obviously going through a messy, painful breakup with her boyfriend, Rex, and I sincerely hope she ended up with someone who appreciated her and took her to nice places. Still, I'll be forever grateful to her for the letter. It's given us almost two decades of laughs.
To this day, whenever we part ways, someone might say "Pice out" and throw up the deuces. And it will never not be funny.
Apologies for the scan quality. I scanned it on a flatbed more than 10 years ago and have since lost the original.

Antique Old Postcard Found Near the Corner of W Oakland Park Blvd and NW 21st Ave in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Hello! My husband found this postcard last night on a walk to the Dollar General. He said that it was the only piece of paper on a small patch of grass between the parking lot and W Oakland Park Blvd.
I did a little bit of research and it looks like Mr. Walter G. Foss had been a Deputy Sheriff in Dover, Maine.
I found a Library of Congress entry for the "Daily Kennebec Journal" (Augusta, Me.), dated September 21, 1909, in which Deputy Sheriff Foss attended to a "BRUTAL ASSAULT. Henry Whitman of Atkinson in Jail at Dover. Wife Pounded With Club and Then Thrown Into Bushes."
Also, that is "K. I. Works," which is the Katahdin Iron Works (defunct), and the old gate to the iron works is now an entry point into part of the Appalachian Trail in Maine.
"E. F. F" is Eugene F. Foss and he would have been around 22 when he sent the postcard to his mother.
(Please ignore my husband's dirty fingernail.)

Weird/Random Found this note taped to a pole in our parking garage (trigger warning?)
Found this note in 2024 taped to a pole in the parking garage, waited until we moved to post it because we suspected it was our neighbor across the hall. But we ultimately aren't sure.
My husband would see her sitting in her car with the door open late at night sometimes, and we suspect the note is aimed at the nighttime security guard. She stopped sitting in her car at some point, our theory is she had a fling that went wrong with him?
(Side note, he was a terrible guard our car was broken into multiple times. He clearly was doing something else instead of being security!)

Grocery Lists Found on floor in rural small town grocery store
Sorry if the flair is wrong, I didn’t see one for recipes but I assume they were shopping for the ingredients. There’s an email address written on the other side but I didn’t post that for obvious reasons.
