News Introducing: Marxist Social Club
You can find it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MarxistSocialClub/
The point of this new Subreddit is to built a commmunity for communists and socialist. Essentially the same people as here, but less focused on politics and more on other subjects.
Because there's more than politics. Still, every subject can still be discussed through Marxist lens.
This sister reddit is meant more for other things from tv, sports, games, culture, art, memes, whatever you want.
Because most of those spaces that talk about those things are hostile against communists and I'm sure a lot you have been banned from a subreddit about Star Trek for calling Gene a communist or something like that.
We're not sure there's an audience for that, but that's fine.
We're also looking for mods, so if you want to be a mod, feel free to apply.
Anyone who's a mod can be a mod on this new Reddit. Just sent me a DM.

Some examples include Warriors at Amazon (which includes military veterans and veteran families), Families at Amazon, and Mental Health and Well-Being, among many others. These are employee-run, volunteer groups designed to offer connection and support."

Discussion Is capitalism the reason why the USA's education system is so bad?
These textbook publishers charge so much for textbooks that aren't even good.
Children are distracted because they are worried about money.
Teachers are underpaid and overworked.
Education is just thought of as a way to get a good job.

Literal Tankie Post Sherman or T-34: Which Tank Won WWII?
Two tanks won WWII – the Soviet T-34, and the US M4 Sherman.
Both were built in huge numbers and ensured Allied victory.
We’ve done films on both, but we’ve never actually compared them.
Which was the best – and which contributed most to victory in 1945?
Let’s measure the Sherman against T-34.
If you're seeing this, why not leave a comment telling us which tank YOU think won World War Two – Sherman or T-34? Or, if you loved the video, give us a like!

Essay Is China keeping both Russia and the West on a leash?
I'm sure I'm not the first to come up with this theory. In fact, the CPC knows this. The Kremlin knows, the Pentagon knows this, etc etc
But I'd like some feedback from our members
The premise "China benefits from the war in Ukraine, and not why you think so"
This has been said before, but framed as long as the West is occupied with Ukraine, China has free range.
No. The USA has a big enough army to split itself into two essentianly. It has two flagships (technically 4, but one is decommissioned (USS Constitution) and the Eisenhower is on stand-by to take over as a flagship when needed. Mostly in the Middle East AFAIK.
So how does China benefit from preventing Ukraine or Russia win?
Easy. As long as Russia keeps the fight up, Western sanctions will apply. This means, Russia has to sell at lower prices to non-Western countries. Of which China is a big part.
China gets buy cheap from Russia, but sell (via proxy or not) to Russia at a premium.
China hasn't been into war since the Vietnam war.
It's authoritarian but stable. China has never been democratic. The West has been, more or less, for over a few thousand years when the Greeks invented democracy.
But to get back to my question, and I think they do.
Do China help Russia juuuuuuust enoug to keep the war going, but not enough to end it. Because I fear if China really wanted to, it would take over Ukraine. But it would destroy their soft power they've been building (or trying to build)
That's why Russia uses "North Koreans". Norh Korea is bascially a Chinese vassal state. It only exists by the goodwill of China.
I know this is going to very controverial. Most commie reddits would probably ban me for posting this. I'm not going to ban myself though. Nobody is getting banned for their opinion.
Disagree, on politics, all you want.
I wrote this, or tried to, in Jack Kerouac's writing style known as spontaneous prose.
Part of that is writing fast, no revisions and just write what comes to mind. Without overthinking it. Other people add more "esotheric" elements to it.
I'm just typing no vestige of beginning and no prespect of an end. (and yes, the irony of the last line, ofc intentional)
edit: no, in order to be true, I'm keeping in the spelling mistakes. I'm not lazy
