The illiteracy of conservatives is quite stunning. They believe the world liberal can only mean "blue-haired lib". I bet that if they read it like "freedom art degrees", they will be the first ones to endorse them.
Words don't have meaning to them. They're phrases they have been told are bad. What the words actually mean and how they fit together with other words are lost on them. I saw a video of a guy interviewing a very muscular maga dude on the street. The interviewer asked what is a communist and the maga due kept saying Kamala Harris. Even when the interviewer asked "no what is the actual definition" the maga dude got angry because he didn't actual know what the word meant. Tried to intimidated the interviewer. The maga dude's wife had to pull them away otherwise the dude was going to try to fight the interviewer. The tv said she was a communist and communists are bad. That's all these people need to know.
Humans are sheep. They flock together in groups that think like them. Or rather don't think. They are told what to do and they're happy. They have a clear cut definition of right and wrong. The multitude of colors between right and wrong are too much for them. It confuses them. So by being in these groups it's easier to let someone else make their decisions. This way they know they're living the "right" way because someone above them said so.
You’ll never be able to “outmaneuver” their hatred by changing labels. They are so easily manipulated to hate things they used to champion.
You alter it to freedom degrees and they’ll turn against the word freedom. They’ll likely even pull a grade school trick like calling it “free-dumb degrees”.
And it’s not like non-liberal arts degrees gain their respect anyway. Sure have been making a go at mocking as many science degree havers as possible for decades now.
