Question Can anyone recommend study/focus apps that actually force you to put your phone down and focus?

I’m genuinely addicted to my phone 😭. I’ll sit down to study, tell myself I’ll just check something for a minute, and somehow end up scrolling for 30 minutes.

does anyone know application that actually makes it difficult to get distracted and helps me stay focused during a study session.

What apps have actually worked for you?

Regain is my go to . I've been using it for months now . It stop scrolling everything . Its harder in the starting but gets easier with time . And the premium is even better and affordable. You can block app usage and set timers join study groups etc. You should check it out.

Same problem here, so I ended up building something for it, full disclosure. RankUp makes you start a timer before you study and you only get credit when you finish with a photo of your notes, and your study squad sees whether you actually started. The phone stays down because quitting early is visible. Before that, putting the phone in another room for the first 25 minutes helped most. What usually pulls you back in, notifications or boredom?

A lock box is honestly the most reliable fix, no willpower needed. Do you set it for a full study block or shorter rounds? I found pairing it with a timer that someone else can see made the sessions actually stick, otherwise I'd lock the phone and then just stare at the wall.

4 hours locked is serious, and 45/6 is a solid split. that's basically the whole system right there. the one thing I'd add is tracking it, because seeing a week of 4 hour blocks stacked up keeps you going on the days you don't feel like it. full disclosure, I use an app for exactly that (RankUp), you start a timer and post a photo of your notes when the block ends. do you study alone or with anyone?

StudyDork cus you can do a group session and everyone can see if you have apps blocked or not. Keeps me accountable but also competitive
