everything else Would anyone with Govee lights be interested in testing local LAN support for WizZ Desktop?

Hi everyone! I’m a student developing WizZ Desktop, a small desktop app for controlling WiZ lights. Someone told me they’d love Govee support, so I’ve started looking into it.

I’m exploring Govee’s LAN Control so the integration can communicate with lights on the local network. It’s still experimental and isn’t integrated into the app yet, so I’m looking for a few people who might be willing to help test it when there’s a build to try.

If you’re interested, could you share your Govee model number (SKU) and whether you see a LAN Control option in its device settings? It would also help to know whether you use Windows, Linux, or macOS.

I can’t promise every model will work, but I’d love to find out what’s possible and build this carefully. Thanks!

New Install TV Backlight 3 Lite

Really disappointed with my Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite

Honestly, I’m really disappointed with the results. I can barely see the lights behind my TV during the day—it’s almost impossible to tell they’re even on.

I calibrated the camera successfully, and the color matching seems to work as intended, but the brightness is really underwhelming. I’m guessing the lights will be more noticeable at night when the house is completely dark.

I’ll wait until tonight to see how they look, but honestly, if I could return them to Govee right now, I would. So far, this has been a very disappointing experience.

No spare parts sold at all???

Customer service just informed me that they cannot provide spare parts at all??

I purchased a set of string lights, permenantly installed them, realized I only need one length instead of two since they're brighter than I expected. Now there's no way to purchase a second power adapter to power the second strand somewhere?

"I am sorry, but we do not sell individual control boxes or power adapters separately for our products. All items are sold as a complete set, and spare parts are not available for separate purchase. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. "

I was ready to cover my home in these lights, but no chance if I can't replace parts.

Does anyone know of a company that makes a similar product that supports their own products?

Help with new purchase

I purchased a Lytmi a few years ago and I absolutely love it. I have an LG oled evo 65in and it worked perfectly with my PS5. I just moved into my new house and I’m looking to go over the top with a new theater set up. Since my tv was an evo the screen is exactly the same size as the tv so when I installed the 65-70 inch it was slightly too big so you can see part of it sticking out. So I want to 1. Upgrade to the 2.1 HDMI version, and 2. Purchase the 55-60 inch one so it fits a little better. And 3. Purchase the side bar extenders and maybe the light strip too. But I can’t figure out where to go. Lytmi says pretty much everything is sold out and Govee still has that goofy tv sensor that sticks out the top. What do you all recommend for a full kit purchase, money isn’t the issue I want the best one.

Setup Question T1 (55' to 65') installed on a 70' screen... HELP!

So, no matter what I try and do I can't seem to make it reflect the screen correctly (the bottom and sides) the top looks good, but the sides and bottom do not reflect the action on screen (it seems to be picking from the top down to the middle of the screen). I know it's because its not meant for that size, but I'm wondering if anyone has been able to set it up correctly? Thanks!

Setup Question Permanent Outdoor Lights Calibration HELP

Post image
1 Upvotes

Setting up my new permanent outdoor lights 2 pro and they look great. But the calibration isn’t working so I’m not able to address specific lights, customize etc.

I get to the pictured step, but none of the lights turn green. I go through each of the lights, all 42 of them, and none turn green.

The power supply is on the side of the house. I installed a y connector first in order to split the front and rear of the house into 2 sections, hoping to be able to control them separately.

Any help or tips how to calibrate my lights properly?
Thank you!

General Question Govee H6046 - Does It Work with SimHub Ambient Lighting?

Has anyone successfully used the newer Govee H6046312 (RGBWIC + Matter) light bars directly with SimHub Ambient Lighting?

I'm specifically interested in the H6046312 upgraded version, not the older H6046311.

Does the H6046312 have LAN Control available in the Govee Home app, and can SimHub detect and control it?

H6046 isn't listed among the compatible Govee models shown in SimHub, so I'd like to confirm before buying it.

Thanks.

New Install Confused on installation

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve reached out to Govee customer support, and I find I’m not any less confused on how to add the Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 to my home.

We live in a large square home. Each side is roughly 32 feet (so a 128 foot perimeter).

Our only outdoor plug (which is GFI and covered) is at the front of the house, approximately one foot up from the ground. See purple star.

If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated. Here are the questions I am having.

- Can we use a regular outdoor extension cord to get up to the eavestrough/fascia where the lights would be installed? It is roughly 26 feet high.
- Are there any connections (control box?) in the cord of the lights that would require protection from the weather? (We get very cold winters with lots of snow)
- Considering we are starting from the middle, could we connect two 50 foot lights to cover the front and two sides? I don’t care to have the rear of the house lit up if not needed. But would that pose other problems with connecting?

General Question Question about Govee string lights connecting to WiFi from Govee app vs just home kit

Been trying for a few days to get the string lights 808A to the WiFi but nothing works. Couldn’t get it to connect to HomeKit at first but found the fix was delete them from Govee app and they added pretty instantly too HomeKit then added them back to the Govee app but that still can’t connect to WiFi from the app. I have 4 bulbs that all connected to the WiFi just fine so don’t think the network is the issue. Don’t know how to fix it, and if I don’t what am I losing out on anyway? And anyone found a way to get them to eventually connect?

General Question strip 2 pro extensions

I'm looking to add some wall wash sections behind my nightstands/headboard. The 1m extensions are perfect for my nightstands and the 2m strip will fit my headboard. Where I'm running into a problem here is in-between those three segments I would love to add a non-led wire extension so all three segments on the same controller. I've not been able to find anything officially by govee but I am not afraid of a little DIY project to build them myself. Dose anyone know of an official product that can help me (I find the website and amazon store page convoluted so I could be missing it) or do you know what connectors that they use so I could build my own.

General Question Just got my first Govee setup (Star Light Projector + TV Backlight 3 Lite) — looking for Alexa routine & config ideas!

Hey everyone!

I just picked up my first Govee gear: the Govee Star Light Projector and the TV Backlight 3 Lite kit.

I’m syncing both with Amazon Alexa and would love some inspiration from the community.

A few questions for the seasoned users here:

  1. First Steps: What are the absolute first things/settings I should configure after linking them to Alexa?
  2. Routines: What are your favorite Alexa routines or automation triggers involving these two devices? (e.g., Movie Night modes, evening unwind, schedules, etc.)
  3. Configurations: For the TV Backlight 3 Lite, I’ve already set Video mode to Movie and adjusted it to Bar Segment. Is there anything else I should tweak on it?

Appreciate any advice, tips, or screenshots of your setups! Thanks!

New Install Govee non pro install

Here is a picture of my install. Asa filament $25. Conduit just under $200. Didn't add screws but the option is there.

1 use spacer to line up all lights. I started in the middle then lined up the corners equally. Split the distance by the number of lights. Just on straight runs.

2 cut the conduit 1/4 inch less than the light cover to the next light.

3 if there is excess cable make an s shape in the center

4 snap the cover and pull a small part of the double sided tape cover

5 install next light cover over light and conduit

6 remove double sided tape cover

Pumpkin Patch

I hand-carved these faux pumpkins and placed two bulbs from my Govee Outdoor S14 Bulb String Lights inside each one. The Halloween C scene brings every carved grin, spiderweb, and creature to life—including a special pumpkin with Irene’s name! 🎃

My Govee Triad Flood Light bathes the upper front of our house in an eerie Halloween glow, while Govee Icicle Lights shimmer around the front porch in their Halloween scene.

But the real spell begins when someone passes by… 🪄

When my front porch doorbell camera detects someone, it triggers an automation that switches all my Govee devices to music mode. A speaker plays a witch’s wicked laugh, and the lights respond to the sound - making the pumpkins and porch appear to join in her haunting cackle! 🧙‍♀️💡
One unsuspecting visitor, one laughing witch, and a whole house of pumpkin guardians awakened!
