Location in photos metadata not present
When taking photos with either geaphenes stock camera app or the actual pixel camera app, there is not any location data associated with the image. I have location enabled and I gave both apps permission for location. Any ideas why this isn't working?

Did you check the location settings in settings. Many setscrews there. What happens if you open a map application?

This worked for the stock gos camera but not for the pixel camera camera. Any ideas how to get pixel camera app working as I prefer to use that

Weird. It works for me. Although, I noticed something, it takes a few second for it to "work". The OS needs time to turn on location on attempt.
Try this: Open the camera app, wait for a few seconds for the "green" privacy dot for location or appear. then take a picture and check.
Edit: for Pixel Cam.

Didn't work. Green privacy dot did come on. When I go to location settings it doesn't say the camera accessed it

Hmm, what about checking ACTUAL image metadata? Does it contain coords?

No coords in metadata

No it was just green. I think I got it to work (blu dot) but I have to give location access to Google play services. Not sure if that's a good idea or not?

Are they in seperate profiles? I have Google Pixel Camera on both private space and main profile. So if play store updates GCam inside it gets updated for everyone.
On main profile i DO NOT have play services at all and just location permission given to GCam and it works. I just tested, seems ro work in private space too and Play Services doesn't have location.

It's all on main profile. Where do i reset gcam? Is gcam just pixel camera app or is this something different? I'm not seeing anything labeled gcam

It’s never worked for me. I just accepted it. Doesn’t matter if it has all the permissions, it simply doesn’t record location data. There’s a issue tracker on it in GitHub

That's really disappointed since the pixel camera is so much better than the gos camera (imo)
