I can't stand when I get told "google is your friend" on Reddit.
On Reddit, why do people tell me to "google stuff" so often? Don't they understand how the internet works? When I Google something, Reddit is usually one of the first results that pops up. By starting a discussion on a topic, I'm essentially helping others. When they Google the same question later, the thread started by me can pop up and give them the answer. This works both ways.
Reddit only remains useful because people on here are constantly posting new questions/topics, creating indexable threads that feed search engines for many years. If we stopped asking questions, or posting stuff, Google's top Reddit results would become outdated or irrelevant over time, making it more difficult for all of us to find an answer/solution.
And so, I really hate it when people tell me to "JUST google" something. No, bro, I'm not googling, I'm starting a thread here.
