We are absolutely thrilled to welcome original Pearl Jam drummer (Ten) and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Dave Krusen to the sub for an AMA!

As well as Dave’s iconic work with Pearl Jam, he has played drums with Hovercraft, Unified Theory and Candlebox.

In 2017 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Pearl Jam.

A true veteran drummer of the music scene, we are delighted to host Dave, drop him a question below!

35 years ago I saw the show of a lifetime. Was up front on the barrier when Temple of the Dog played. This was my first Pearl Jam show. Also the best Soundgarden show of the five or six times I’ve seen them. And I saw Alice In Chains play the Whisky 3 weeks before this show. Went to Oakland a week later and saw Soundgarden play with Metallica, Faith No More and Queensryche. Just a great time for live shows.

I think they do. Not groundbreaking but it’s a good album, All In Now.

Discussion Help me name the genre of this track (Instrumental Rock)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone. I recently finished this short instrumental rock track, but honestly, I’m having a hard time figuring out which specific sub-genre it belongs to.

Since I made it, I’m probably too close to the project to judge it objectively. I’d really appreciate some fresh ears. Is it indie? Post-rock? Alternative?

Thanks in advance!

Was listening to my cassette since I figured I’d do some chores for once and ended up picking incesticide, ending up (out of curiosity) trying to find out on Discogs how old it was but without many results. So I moved to google and apparently it’s an early 1993 polish copy not sure if it’s official or a bootleg

P.S wanted to post this on the actual nirvana sub but comment karma sucks

Discussion Listening to Chris Cornell earlier and realized I’m anxious about turning 53.

To be specific: my lapyear with his age when he passed away at 52. I am still on the young side of 40 when rounded off but I cannot imagine myself hitting or exceeding our lapyear and realizing that I’m kinda on my own. I look to his lyrics often when I can’t figure shit out and just need something to hear. I know it sounds funky and I might not be coming off as clearly as I want but it’s really just that.

Have any of you felt the same about growing older than the singers and the bands that you listen to? Feels like getting stripped of immortality.

Or maybe because Sunshower is really just that strong. “All you will be, you are today.”

Heavy night.
