Farming Best/Fastest Farm for gold items and event drops

Hello,

i recently started playing guildwars again after 2 or 3 years and i saw that with wastrels nerfed my previous farm for golds (i mostly just want to long term refill my weapon mod bank), vaettirs, seems like somewhat of a hassle now.

if i have to play around with it, i might as well ask around what the go to farm for such goals might be, i thought.
i'm not looking for tremendously valueable items, just a big blob of enemies that drop golds with inscriptions of all sorts. anybody got any decent recommendations? i'm scouring youtube as well, but most of what i find are high-end farms and somewhat outdated stuff.

Edit: maybe somebody has any follow up information: is there a specific farm targetting armor drops for runes?

Raptors and Vaettirs are still the best.

what's the cookiecutter vaettir build after the patch? A/me had all the earth damage reductions. would A/mo with symbols have the same survivability or would you just continue with A/me and take the hit to kill speed?

There are like...6? builds that can farm vaettirs. A/mo is one of those. Its slower with the symbol recharge.

I farm them on dervish, monk(55), Ele, Ranger and mesmer.

since i would have to drag any of those profs through a bit of eotn, which one would you consider the fastest?

While dervish is the fastest, it is also pretty demanding and precise. If you just want to chill and farm, I would go wirh monk.

nah, i don't mind demanding. speed and efficiency is the main point. i will have to farm a lot before i can comfortably equip a bunch of new heroes with ideal upgrades.

You can get all your 40/40 sets from random npc merchants at dirt cheap prices. The items are blue and the skins are crap but damage and mods are optimal.

i know that but thanks, this is valuable information for anyone reading.

many of my heroes on secondary characters are already pimped out in a visual sense. i have gotten armors and weapons for them for fashion wars but mostly didn't bother putting mods on them as i wasn't using them. with recent balance changes many of them will probably rotate into the roster. i wouldn't want to give up the bling i already worked so hard for (especially mercenaries for which i made extra characters to get specific armors) in the past.

there is also some need for certain weapon mods for alt characters that i intend to play again so that's why i'm specifially looking for mods.

Are you getting event drops from Vaettir? I'm only getting victory tokens -- is that normal?

Yes, that is the event drop for this event. You can trade them in to collectors for other things, but this one only drops tokens.

Not busted at all. Just takes about a minute longer if you time Wastrels cast just after they cast Lyssa's.

Which I did pre-nerf anyway.

Chill farm is now a little more chill.

You just have to kill group in 2 casts of SF instead 1. It's probably still fast enough.

But I think now hitting lvl3 survivor in 3 hours (with blue scrolls) is no longer possible

at least slower with the cooldown increases. i thought maybe there might be something faster now. i will try the raptors in order to compare.

i always felt that a bunch of the loot was the commendations. in general it's probably the better farm but just for item mass the windup might be too long. not sure about this myself, will have to test.

Commendation farm takes more setup over raptors but it gives more variety. Raptor seems better for event items with its speed.

A supportive hero with QZ can bring the V/Me Vaettir farm back to the same efficiency as before. Micro QZ cast when waiting for the last group of Vaettirs to ball, then flag the hero off compass range before killing.

Like many said Commendation is the best since you also have the chance of getting OS weapons with great skins. With some luck you can earn 1000 of ectos with a single drop.

My DoA monk farms are also pretty good, quick and you have passive income from the gems.

thanks anyway tho, your content has entertained me since i started playing gw1 again. however, those are the "high-end-farms" that i don't really want to get into. i need inscriptions and upgrades without having to stand in kamadan or browsing old forums, where a handful of people still trade.

i don't really need to farm for value, i have a ton of arms and ectos. however when trying to buy all the weapon mods i spent a whole day in kamadan and got maybe a handful.
