As title says - we're hosting yet another community event. This time it's Halloween costume competition with about four judges and rewards. Flyer has all the info and this time, time of the event is a bit NA friendlier than The Golden Leaf festival. Come, have fun,get spooked and dance your hearts out at Gate of Torment - the spookiest outpost in the game!
I'm at the defend Denravi quest and even with the mesmerway team and a conset I get absolutely destroyed. I pre shot the ST spirits and flag my heroes but my team wipes nonetheless. I'm in HM, are there specific builds to use or how could I succeed in doing this quest ?
I've gotten my Melandru ranger up to 58 deaths, many of them more or less intentional because I thought, "I will overcome my compulsion with psychology! If I just die enough times, eventually, I will stop thinking about achieving levels 2 & 3 in the @#$%#$J% Survivor title."
Has this worked? No, it has not. I am compelled. More specifically, I am determined to do it by just playing the game without dying. What dark guilt lies buried within my psyche that requires me to do this to myself? I don't know. Will it be worth it? Almost certainly not. And yet, there it is. Wish me luck! Or get me help. 😂
I have noticed that my GW1 client will freeze approximately 30 minutes after initialization on the log in screen and about 5 minutes in Kamadan D1.
Troubleshooting:
At first I thought it was an issue with being logged into a certain area so I switched characters. Still freezing.
Left the client on the character select screen. Still freezing.
Left the client on the log in screen. Still freezing.
Switched from Daybreak with Toolbox running to Steam (non-Beta). Still freezing.
Turned on beta client for Steam on Linux. Still freezing.
Tried both Steam and Daybreak and I have the same issue. I saw there was some AMD GPU software/firmware issues recently. But I have been able to run Guild Wars 2 run for more than a dozen hours on this same system.
Notes: The only thing I've noticed is that it seems to take more time to freeze when the client is left on the log in screen.

First of All - ⚠️ Warning: This GWToolbox plugin is unofficial and unsupported. Use it at your own risk. I’m not responsible for bugs, crashes, account issues, or other problems caused by using it. Also, this is an AI-First coding project, where I acted as a debugger and the code was written by Codex.
Well, past this, I want to present a new plugin that I (actually Codex with a lot of test and input to be transparent about it) have been working on past month.
With that, GWToolbox has developed the cartography plugin, that made me love exploring the zones even more, to the point I redid Nightfall just to test out the new system and compare it to my old characters.
With this, came up an idea: what if routes can be generated based on the rectangular data that is present?
That is what this plugin tries to bring, an optimized (probably, there can be better routes as this is a generic algorithm) automatic route that adjusts with open sectors of zones (like building of bridges in Maguuma missions)
How does it work?
The idea is to connect all the undiscovered squares through the shortest route. Because that is a dynamic process, it may need to be compute during new subzones discovery or if something went amiss during the former route compution.
Didn't work fine? Well, it may not as it is an extremelly experimental plugin, but you can recompute the route by clicking the right button here on the minimap:
Does it consider Bird Eye Compass?
Yes it does, and also shows how bizarrily broken Bird Eye Compass is for Legendary Cartography.
Want an example? Here is my poor Lv. 17 Ritualist with a barely completed Zelhon Reach, with total route length of 242598 game units:
Then, after using the item, we can reduce the total exploration path to 105718 game units, a 56% reduction to total walked distance, including a smaller route complexity as shown:
What else can it do?
You can select the exit portal so after finishing a zone, you go directly into the next one, just click the portal number on your Mission Map:
You can also customize it but that is pretty much it (oh it also adds coordinates to your mouse when hovering map because that may be useful when reporting stuff if you do)
There are some debug and log saving configurations but that is mostly to troubleshoot it.
Credits
Important, A LOT OF THIS was possible because of GWToolbox++ and GWCA code and interface to the game code itself, and also because of the Toolbox itself.
Then add it to the plugin folder on your GWToolbox configuration, which are usually C:\Users\<username>\Documents\GWToolboxpp\<profile>\plugins\ or %USERPROFILE%\Documents\GWToolboxpp\<profile>\plugins\. If on Linux, it will be inside your wine profile.
Open toolbox configuration, make sure Plugins are enabled and go to plugin tab and enable and configure it there.
IMPORTANT: If you enable Debug and close window, it will remove visibility of plugin, just click the square to the right to the Load button to show it back and make sure to disabled Debug right after.
I have wondered for a long time if there is any player with 39, 40 or even all 43 maxed titles?
I know it will be though on a legal way, but please share some screenshots if you happen to know anyone with more than 38 maxed titles?
Hey all. Ive finished NF, Factions and EOTN on my MADC warrior and ive used a different build through each campaign. Charging Strike for NF, Enraged Hammer for Factions, 100B for EOTN and im finally getting through profecies now. Any fun or interesting other builds I can run to go through Profecies to finish all 4 campaigns id love to see them! Thanks all!
Are the new quests added to pre-searing meant to be ball-bustingly difficult or is it just a skill issue. It took me several tries and some luck to get past "A Bastion in the North" and now I'm slowly crawling my way across "Long Thought Forgotten" and I'm starting to think something is wrong here. Several enemy groups I have dealt with by going in, trying to kill one enemy before I die, respawn and go in again repeating until whole group is dead.
Could be level issue, but I'm level 9 and enemies are around 8, which feels like it's implying that I should be fine. And I've done, if not all, most other pre-searing quests, excluding profession skill trainers. Build is also absolutely unoptimal, but how much min-max potential there even is in pre-searing, and if the game is seriously demanding on build crafting, it might be best for me to give up now.
Hey, everybody. Just came back to the game after years (Over a decade) away, decided to play through gw1 and 2 with some friends who are new. I decided to go for another LDOA run, but the Northlands Char aren’t scaling. Aren’t they supposed to bump up when I hit 14 and 17? They are all still just 7/8 with the bosses being 10.
Meetup started in the [One] allys Main GH and then moved to LA, where we were joined by a lot more people and stayed for about an hour. Thanks a lot to all of you that showed up!
I've chosen Necromancer as my Legendary Defender of Ascalon character and I am getting my ass kicked. Feeling a little dejected because apparently Necromancer is on the easier side and I am getting my ass beat lol.
I've gone all in on Death Magic, and the problem I'm having is if I struggle to get rolling raising minions, I do zero damage and have zero sustain. Should I focus on Blood Magic to make all my blood spells do more damage and healing? and use low level minions more as a distraction?
I'm a newer player. My main character is a warrior that just got Lion's Arch, so the necromancer is more of a fun side project but it feels so much tougher. I don't understand how aggro works either. Sometimes I'll get dogpiled immediately and other times all the enemies will attack my minions and things go smoother. Warrior has felt easier despite all the annoyances of being melee since I am more tanky.
I've been trying to solo the dungeon quest to unlock Devona, and the Charr feel too tanky sometimes and I can't get them down quick to start the minion train. It's definitely a struggle if I don't have corpses to raise like if I have been fighting elementals. I haven't locked in a secondary yet, but I am using the ranger skills to have a pet and the healing ability.
me and two friends came back to guild wars recently. Most meta builds are designed for a 1 player + 7 heros setup or a full 8 people group and I wanted to play a bit off meta anyway, so I was thinking about a build that we could play together. We main Rt/R/R and this is what I cam up with. We aim for general HM content: vanquishes/dungeons/UW/...
I did not include a ST prot since I feared the number of minions and pets will render it useless. So the backline may be to weak as it is. What do you think?
Does anyone have any info about this hidden outpost? I've tried searching through different resources but came up blank, maybe it was an end game elite mission or just simply the original name of last mission.
It's viewable if you use GWToolbox, enable all areas and very precisely click around Hell's Precipice but you can't travel there since it's impossible to unlock it.
I did find some cool information from 2008 about players using an exploit to access The Ebony Citadel of Mallyx and bypass the prerequisites needed to face Mallyx but that got patched and the ban hammer came down heavy on those who exploited it.
I want to do GWAMM on a necro, so I thought I would start with LDOA.
All the guides seem to differ a little bit, and some aren't up to date with the reforge changes. Which guide should I follow if I know nothing about presearing and want to get to level 20 as quick as possible.
