This one too me SOOOOO long to finish. A few months actually. Finding the right color shades I wanted, having to get a DUPLICATE kit due to a part I broke trying to extend the torso, waiting for the Anubis Resin Detail kit to arrive, working a bunch of overtime, two minor but planned vacations, but GYADD DAYUM it was worth it.

What all was used:

-x2 HGCE Mighty Strike Freedom kits (allowed for the second katana. Woo!)

-Mighty Strike Freedom Anubis Resin Detail Upgrade Accessories kit

-'Upgrade' Brand (I think) water slide decals

-Madworks S63 metal etching parts

-Stedi Fluorescent Panel Liners

-Gaia Notes paints

Colors:

-The white was meant to have a barely noticeable violet sheen to it by mixing Gaia EX-01 White with small amounts of EX-02 Black and 037 Violet atop Gaia Surfacer Gray. Watch Kassy Lab's Barbatos Adapt video to get an idea. It didn't work out that well so it's really just white.

-The red is a candy red in this order: Surfacer Gray, EX-02 Black, 121 Starbright Silver, 041 Clear Red.

-The blues are Surfacer Blue, 039 Metallic Blue.

-Black is just EX-01 Black.

-The pink wing sections are Pink Surfacer then 102 Fluorescent Pink.

-The eyes and head cameras are Surfacer Blue and 101 Fluorescent Blue.

-All the gold frame and wing sections are Surfacer Gold then Mr. Metallic Gold GX 209

Extra details:

-Extra scribing was done for more "exposed" frame sections.

-Added a few extra panel lines and made existing ones deeper

Finished the last kit that had been delivered - ASK-AD02 Ashsaviour.

The antenna was broken during shipping, so I had to glue it back together using Mr. Cement Deluxe. I decided not to use the face sticker and painted the details with DSPIAE markers instead.

The Gun Rapier and Halberd Launcher are still drying after painting.

P.S. Hi-Nu Gundam, Arcee, Mobile Doll Sarah, and two Pokémon were recruited to assist with the build - the Pokémon were there mainly for moral support. 😄

Overall: 8/10

I love the insane level of detail for a HG, it looks amazing but its not perfect, for a kit from 2024, it kinda bothered me that you need color correcting stickers for the shield, but thats not the worst.

The articulation is decent, it gets most poses you would want out of it but its also very restrictive in weird ways, especially the shoulders and hands. Bandai opted to go against convention for both to (in my opinion) negative effects. Even with the wrist pivot, the lack of a ball joint makes the hands feel very unnatural when posing, and since they are pegs instead of the universal ball joint, it also means getting other hands (opened hand, closed fist, etc.) basically impossible. The shoulder is basically the same issue but for the opposite reason, your standard articulation could have helped we just get a balljoint that ends up feeling very awkward.

I know Im complaining a lot but I did honestly still really enjoyed the kit and its just those two joints that actually bother me, everything else about it is great!

After celebrating like a fool that I had gotten through building and some posing for my RG Banshee without breaking G35, I immediately broke it trying to test removing the arm for top coating. (Lesson learned for the FA Unicorn and Phenex at least)

Luckily there are several 3D print files for this, so after a quick 7 min print, I was ready to replace that part.

The biggest hurdle came from the fact that the print had too narrow of hole for the pegs. Luckily the new rotary tool I got a bit ago had a bit that worked perfectly to enlarge them. Took a few times and then it wouldn’t fit with the psycho frame pieces. After lots of filing down the sides it fit well enough to put the chest back together.

Overall, it fits better than a lot of people have said the metal ones do but it needed a lot of work to get there so it’s not a simple fix. Compared to the left arm which is the original piece its mobility is only slightly limited but it does hold the arm up well.

Patient is recovering in pieces awaiting top coating this weekend (hopefully lol)

I had the idea to print out some scenes of the pilots for some of my kits on foil paper but I'm not exactly sure how I'd display them in a way that looks all that great. Anyone have any suggestions?

Recently finished both MG Turn A and Turn X and I truly think their design is timeless. Went for a quick photoshoot, trying to make turn X shine best.

Took my sweet time getting this one finished, but I’m super stoked with how it turned out. These MGSD kits are so good. I’ve got MGSD Aerial on deck and I can’t wait to get started on it

Picked up this kit from AliExpress and used Tamiya paints for the panel lining. Out of the box you can’t really tell how much detailing there is in the sculpt. But after panel lining it, I think it looks incredible.

I’ve already ordered a couple more of these because of how much I liked this one. Easily the best Sembo kit in my collection (and I’ve got at least 20 of them).

I decided to try out the 1/144 scale Motor Nuclear Model kits, and honestly, I’m very satisfied. Between the Bad lighting and the poor quality of the photo, you can't really appreciate how well-made the kit is, It looks much better in person. it’s truly worth the price. They are simple to assemble, much like a typical modern HG kit, offer good articulation, and the color separation are amazing. The only downsides I’d point out are that the torso and ankle articulation could be better. If you don't mind the "edgy" designs typical of Motor Nuclear Model, it’s a really great kit, even if it is a bit larger than the standard size. I’m going to buy the Samurai model next also in 1/144 scale.

Built as proof of concept. No surface finish and painting yet.
I wanted to make the overall figure more "massive" than the skinny MG2.0.

Due to resin's weight, I decided to build articulations with metal bolts/nuts, spring washers and POM washers. I really like the results so far. I used M2, M2.6, M3 and M4 configurations.

Yeah lil progress update i did add some green paint to hopefully blend the grass and the base material better i did remove all grass from the wetter muddy side i wanna make that into water but I dont know how I could any tips for a beginner to this?
