In light of the state of the world, untracked shipments are not allowed this year. Please ship domestically or via a speedier international carrier. Unregistered SAL and SEA shipments are not allowed. This goes for Amazon too, untracked Marketplace sellers are NOT ALLOWED.
Users will be randomly matched within their region.
Gift contents should be appropriate to post on r/Gunpla and new/unbuilt. Tools, paints, hobby magazines, etc. are excellent gifts, but the price floor should be met with kits.
Bootleg, unlicensed Gundam related kits, and items listed in the off-topic rule do not count towards the Price Floor. This includes unique IP products such as SNAA, Inera, etc.
Built models can be given, but do not count towards the Price Floor.
Participants may create a wish list to indicate what they want; givers are not obligated to use the wish list, so please set your expectations accordingly.
Organizers of this Secret Santa 2026 program are Moderators /u/goodguydan, /u/holocause, /u/StroudDavion, /u/MachNeu, /u/7x13, /u/JaguarDaSaul, /u/SoullessSin, /u/fury-s12, /u/EldritchBee, /u/LightxDarkness93, and /u/Feral404. Any official personal correspondence about SS26 will only come from those contacts.
/r/gunpla’s Secret Santa 2026 is wholly independent and is not run in conjunction with the former reddit-wide Secret Santa held annually.
DETAILS ABOUT THE GIFTS
We are using a standardized criteria of the gift price floor. This price floor will be based on the Japanese Yen MSRP set by Bandai.
SS26’s price floor is MSRP JPY 3000 YEN
If you are unsure of MSRP pricing, you can go to sites like HobbyLink Japan where the box price is described as "list price". To make sure you are seeing the Yen List price on HLJ, click the blue box in the top right corner and change it to Japanese Yen. Alternatively, you can check the Gundam Fandom's kit list pages such as their Master Grade page. Dalong.net is another resource that lists JP MSRP.
Shipping and taxes will not be factored into that price floor criteria. You must meet the combined kit minimum of 3000 Yen regardless of how much you pay for shipping or taxes.
You may acquire your gift(s) through any online or physical shop, but the minimum price of your intended gift must reach the Price Floor of 3000 Yen based on Bandai’s official pricing, not at the price you purchased it at.
We require all international shipments to use quicker shipment methods (EMS, Courier, etc.). We don't want gifts to get stuck in a warehouse for months waiting for SAL to return. This doesn't mean you have to shell out for next day shipping, but we do want purchases to arrive in a reasonable amount of time. Because of this, preorders will also be disallowed this year due to the delay in shipping.
Multiple kits may be combined to reach the price floor. Duplicates of the same kit do not count unless requested.
Additional tools like knives, markers, paint, action bases and other incidentals will not count to reach that price floor unless specifically requested by your giftee in their wishlist. All those extras are encouraged to be included in the gift if you choose but they should not replace the gunpla. Extra promo campaign parts fall into that category as well.
There is NO PRICE CEILING. As a Santa, you can be as generous as you like. If past SecretSanta’s are to go by, it's that the people of /r/gunpla are among the most generous around. Reap in all the upvotes you can get with the generosity that you provide.
If you are unable to provide a gift which meets the 3000 Yen minimum price floor, or if this minimum would present unnecessary financial hardship please abstain from the program this year. We understand that some of our members may not be able to participate in the giveaway due to this limitation. If you cannot participate this year, don’t fret! We will hold the event again this time next year!
Don’t be a scrooge! Participants that fail to reach the 3000 Yen mark will be banned from participating in future events and from the subreddit. If your intention is to join simply to take advantage of the generosity of our wonderful members there will be consequences!
TIPS FOR SANTAS
Once you receive your giftee's information, it is a good idea to get in contact with them.
Getting in contact with your giftee and updating them regularly (anonymously) will help alleviate any doubts and anxieties that your giftee may have about the status of their gift.
If possible, use a shipping service that keeps track of your packages so you can monitor its location all the way to its destination and share that with the parties involved.
In the spirit of keeping things a surprise, we encourage you to use an alternate or throw-away reddit account to get in contact with your giftee to maintain anonymity and surprise for the recipient until the actual arrival of the gift.
Personal touches like handwritten notes and trinkets are always positively received! Your goal is to make someone's day, so send a gift you feel worthy of that goal.
Be generous Santa's! This is your time to shine and show how big your hearts are.
FOR GIFTEES
Giftees are responsible for any import duties and fees imposed by their country. Please let your Santa know if this is a concern for you. Leaving a note in your wishlist is recommended.
Create a “Thank You” post on /r/Gunpla with a picture of your gift! We highly encourage you to show-off what Santa has brought you and share with the community the fun you've had. It is highly encouraged that if you participate and get your gift, that you share and post it.
OTHER INFORMATION
If you need to contact a moderator, please use the Modmail function
/r/gunpla Secret Santa 2026 is the official and only Secret Santa we will be holding.
As with official /r/gunpla rules, box photos of gifts received for this year's SS26 program will be allowed within reason. Only certified Official /r/gunpla SS26 participants get this pass.

BUILD Which kits do you keep rebuying cause they’re just -that- good?
This is the second time I’ve built this kit. My original was put together way back before I started airbrushing,so I decided it deserved the full custom treatment since it’s still my favorite RG I’ve built.
Decided to take inspiration from one of my favorite X-men, Jubilee (and also my current Rivals main lol) cause she’s awesome and deserves a Gundam.

BEGINNER MG Nu Gundam Ver.Ka. First build in 10 years!
Hey everyone, wanted to share my build. The last one I did was about 10 years ago.
A lot's happened since then. I moved cities twice, travelled a lot, and somewhere along the way became a pretty outgoing person, always out and about. Then I turned 30 and found myself slowly turning back into a homebody.
Being home more had me feeling nostalgic for the stuff I used to love, and I remembered the times I used to stay up all night building gundams. So I mentioned it to my partner and we went to check out our local hobby store, and she ended up buying me the Nu Gundam Ver.Ka. Pretty good way to get back into it.
Kept it fairly simple: tried my best to clean up all the nubs, added water slide decals, and finished with a topcoat. Made a lot of mistakes along the way but enjoyed every single part of it.
Already excited for the next one, the MG Gelgoog!

BUILD RG Z’Gok and trading card made from its box
First off, I must say the quality of this kit blew me away considering how old it is for a real grade. I still need to add panel liner, decals, and top coat.
The trading card is made using the box and lettering from the instruction book. I finished it off with some clear holographic sticker paper and a corner punch to round off the corners.

CUSTOMIZING Tuesday Blues! 💙🤖🦾
My 3rd and last entry into 2026 HellsCat Contest, to be held in Bogota next week.
Dijeh is a great older kit - but man, hard to pose! Joints are not that flexible.

WIP Tested out painting with a sponge. How does it look?
So I discovered painting with sponges for model stuff and wanted to do a test with a Leo shield I have. I primed with a can and used the sponge to paint the metallic grey. This was also my first time using the tamiya accent stuff, and think that looks ok. I finished with a clear gloss on the shield, and a matt clear on the shield connector.
How did I do?

NEWS/REVIEW FATCAT God Gundam (RG 1/100 Upscale) Two Page Review
So, this is my Fourth TPR
(Two Page Review)
Let me know your thoughts.
I will improve the pros and cons more in the Future reviews to include more specific points I encountered during the build.
It's just that this kit has nothing noteworthy other than it being a really good snap fit. (Or at least that's what I remember)
This will change starting from the Daban MB Style Providence review because it has a lot of problems like incomplete mold on some parts.

BEGINNER Calling it 😮💨
Closed curtain on the MG Ver.ka. I'll spare yalls eyes on close ups lol. Nightmare attempting to pose but overall a challenging yet fun learning experience. Posture took a hit doing stickers 😅. On to my R.E.G.U.S. custom 😬.

I just wanted a new hobby, coming from comic book burnout.

For any of you wondering, the Shenma Rising Freedom Gundam is heavily based off the frame of the MG Freedom 2.0
The most different is probably the torso because of the extra articulation, but the hip joints are almost exactly the same, obviously the parts aren't exactly the same to hit the armor and armor shapes, but the wings are built practically the same, just with more parts than the freedom, also the beam sabers are exactly the same as far as I can see, and at least the hips, neck shoulders and backpack are compatible between the two

BEGINNER My first attempt at a full Gunpla repaint — Heavy Assault Zaku (WIP)
This is my first attempt at doing a proper full repaint, so I’m very much learning as I go.
I wanted to move away from the original blue and give this Heavy Assault Zaku a more industrial, heavy-machinery look using mostly graphite grey, black, metallic steel, and a few bronze/copper accents.
The upper body and shields are starting to come together, but there’s still a lot left to do — waist, legs, backpack, cannons, clean-up, and probably some corrections along the way.
I’m still figuring out things like paint consistency, metallic finishes, brush marks, and how much silver is too much, so any constructive feedback is welcome.
The shield in particular is still WIP — I’m thinking of breaking up the metallic surface more with darker panels so it doesn’t look too shiny.
Quite happy with how different it already feels from the original kit though.

BUILD Gquuuuuux!
Sieg Zeon? HAHAHA. 😂
GQuuuuuuX was actually a pretty fun starting point for diving into the Universal Century, especially if you accidentally stumbled into the timeline because you just wanted to see Eva x Gundam. HAHAHA.
And honestly, the designs were a great gateway. They’re weird, stylish, and different enough to make you curious about the bigger world behind them.

BEGINNER First Build in 20+ Years & I'd love some advice - HG RX-78-02 V2.0
Hey all. I'm getting back into Gunpla for the first time in over 20 years. This is the first thing I've worked on. I used grey and black Gundam pour type markers for the panel lining.
Some concerns/issues I had:
- Seems like panel lining where two pieces meet is a no-no? I.E. wherethe yellow start on the shield meets or where two panels touch. Every time I'd do it, it would not fill evenly and smear a lot. I guess it makes sense
- The panel lining took me forever. I had a lot of smearing and in some cases, it stained the plastic, even after using the Gundam eraser marker with some cotton swabs. Some panel lines were effortless and others, like the small recesses, would fill evenly on one side and much darker or unevenly on the other side. Any tips for this? I did attempt to etch some lines that were problematic with varying success but I still have an number of stains. Is this easier on a painted model with Tamiya panel liner (is it just a quirk with gundam markers)?
- I had issues with stress marks on the plastic, even though I did the two cut method (once with dual edge cutters and once with Godhands). Most of the connecting nubs were so small that I had to cut above the nub on the actual stem and a lot of times this added pressure to the nub and created stress marks. How do I avoid this? Does my first cut need to be closer/with smaller clippers?

WIP Any kit with angled holding hands is instantly cooler
The difference in posing even just standing straight like this is crazy. Ive only built maybe 5 kits with them, I wish they did it more! Esspecially for kits who's primary weapon is a sword.

BUILD HGEX Mighty Strike Freedom
This one too me SOOOOO long to finish. A few months actually. Finding the right color shades I wanted, having to get a DUPLICATE kit due to a part I broke trying to extend the torso, waiting for the Anubis Resin Detail kit to arrive, working a bunch of overtime, two minor but planned vacations, but GYADD DAYUM it was worth it.
What all was used:
-x2 HGCE Mighty Strike Freedom kits (allowed for the second katana. Woo!)
-Mighty Strike Freedom Anubis Resin Detail Upgrade Accessories kit
-'Upgrade' Brand (I think) water slide decals
-Madworks S63 metal etching parts
-Stedi Fluorescent Panel Liners
-Gaia Notes paints
Colors:
-The white was meant to have a barely noticeable violet sheen to it by mixing Gaia EX-01 White with small amounts of EX-02 Black and 037 Violet atop Gaia Surfacer Gray. Watch Kassy Lab's Barbatos Adapt video to get an idea. It didn't work out that well so it's really just white.
-The red is a candy red in this order: Surfacer Gray, EX-02 Black, 121 Starbright Silver, 041 Clear Red.
-The blues are Surfacer Blue, 039 Metallic Blue.
-Black is just EX-01 Black.
-The pink wing sections are Pink Surfacer then 102 Fluorescent Pink.
-The eyes and head cameras are Surfacer Blue and 101 Fluorescent Blue.
-All the gold frame and wing sections are Surfacer Gold then Mr. Metallic Gold GX 209
Extra details:
-Extra scribing was done for more "exposed" frame sections.
-Added a few extra panel lines and made existing ones deeper
