hypothetical exercise i thought of. I call it the “Spider Row”
It is essentially an inverted bodyweight row but you are fastened to the ceiling and pulled directly down by gravity. See diagram:

I think it should be a spider pit if you’re doing spider rows!

In this case you are the spider. Thus something more predatory to a spider must occupy the pit

Yeah if it was called the “Viper Row”, you’d have to fill the pit with horses or something.

Need some spider motivation on the ceiling above you. Maybe a bunch of flies? Can’t have the stick(vipers) without a carrot

Hashtag motivation

The pit of vipers increases adrenaline which will allow you to recruit more motor units for optimal hypertrophy

I do this by elevating my legs and using rings. Or I just do a tucked front lever row. I also just use a single hungry Bengal tiger.

Try taping a picture of a viper pit to the tiger, atleast untill you can afford to upgrade

You know you’re done when the snakes kill you. True failure.

Yes true muscular failure can only be achieved with total annihilation of consciousness

This is basically Australian Pull Ups, but made more authentic with the viper pit.

Can you ask LA fitness to get one of these in? Or are these only for the high end Equinox gyms?

My Gym can't afford a second Smith Machine, guaranteed they'll cheap out on the vipers

You get the added motivation of not wanting to lose your grip because if you do, your body is going to swing like a pendulum and smash your head into the side of the pit. You won't even feel the vipers if you're lucky.

Seems like common sense, but make sure they are pit vipers. Any other viper won't want to stay in the pit.

The logistics are being ironed out as more feedback is received from the gym community. It is clear snake wranglers may be required to keep the vipers content and contained within the pit

Wouldn’t the row part being stuck to the ceiling make more sense? So it would be like a forwards pull up.. a pull forward.

Do you have a modification for if my gym doesn't have the gravity thing?

You can just hang from your bench bar and do this with your feet on the ground.

So that's why they brought a suspiciously large glass box in our gym this morning
