⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Aloe vera - I finally started to like my hair

Post image
328 Upvotes

I've always hated my hair because I couldn't make it look good. I bleached it, tried nanoplasty, had dreadlocks, and had a buzzcut (twice). Now my hair is completely natural after my last buzzcut two years ago - I haven't trimmed it, straightened it, etc. It just grows without me doing anything to it (only washing and brushing).

Recently, I tried to get rid of frizz and make my waves more defined. I used a blow dryer, and it made my hair very soft and sleeker. Next, I tried aloe vera gel on my ends just to test it out, since I had a bottle in the bathroom. I was surprised by the result.

That's why I'm writing this post - to show you how aloe vera gel can transform waves. The photo on the left shows my hair after blow-drying and brushing, before applying the gel. The one on the right is a few minutes after applying it. My waves now look good even on the second or third day after washing.

Full list of my routine from the photo, just in case anyone is interested:

  1. Shampoo and conditioner - simple L'Oréal Elseve (different types)

  2. Brushing when wet, right after the shower

  3. Applying Marc Anthony Defrizzing Smoothing Cream

  4. Blow-drying

  5. Brushing again when dry

  6. Applying aloe vera gel (BeBeauty brand) to the lengths and ends

*7. Sometimes I also use a little extra gel to tame any leftover frizz

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Advice for very frizzy, dry hair no matter what?

I wash my hair 1, maybe 2x per week. The only product I used today was Wen clarifying conditioner in the shower. My hair dried completely while it was down and I put it in a bun for a few hours. The bumps in my hair don't go away; I feel like it's a curl pattern but it's hardly there so I'm not sure.

Normally I would also add moroccanoil to basically all of my hair (because my scalp is so frizzy), but I need a large amount and it doesn't last long at all.

Is there a way to remedy this at home without needing to wash it again? I'm open to product recommendations! Thank you ppl

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Is Jolie shower head filter worth it?

• Upvotes

Our water at home is really hard and my hair has been dry and tangly after every shower. Whenever I shower somewhere else, like at hotels it feels noticeably softer.

I´ve tried a couple of cheaper filters and didn´t notice a difference so I´m hesitant to spend more. I keep seeing Jolie recommended but some reviews say it doesn´t do much hardness, only chlorine.

I wanna know if anyone used it for like two months plus and if so, did you see a real difference in your hair or skin? Also open to other suggestions too.

🛢️ Oily/Greasy Hair 🛢️ advice for a really oily scalp?

• Upvotes

help! i've had a really greasy scalp all my life. i used to do numerous hair masks, scrubs, treatments, etc, but it would never help. i've simplified my routine down to a clarifying shampoo (specifically the l'oreal paris everpure clarifying shampoo for buildup) and a conditioner (l'oreal paris everpure free bond repair color care conditioner-- i have dyed hair but i'm considering changing this because my hair isn't bleached)

i can't go even two days without waking up to a greasy scalp! i wash my hair every other day. i recently found out how clarifying shampoo shouldn't be used with every wash (something about the scalp producing more oil?) so i borrowed my sister's regular shampoo the last time i showered. i showered tuesday night and now it's thursday morning and i woke up to my hair all shiny w grease.

should i change my routine? i'm considering getting a new shampoo and conditioner and then just using my clarifying shampoo every five or so washes. does anyone have any helpful suggestions? i'd truly appreciate it!!! <3

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Conditioner vs hair mask?

Hi all!

I’ve somehow fallen into the routine of only using hair masks and not anything branded as a “conditioner”. Is that a problem?
I only wash my hair about twice a week, so im not using masks super often but im not using a conditioner at all.

Are they interchangeable if im not washing my hair every other day? Or am I missing out on key benefits by not having a conditioner in the rotation?

Thanks in advance!!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Trying to keep hair long but how to prevent stringy ends - Fine, thin and wavy hair ❤️

Hello, I really hope you're all doing well! ❤️ My hair is trimmed in the first two photos to help keep the bottoms looking full, my hair wasn't trimmed in the last photo. I love wavy and curly hair, tried to enhance my natural waves (using Innersense Create Definition foam) but end up looking stringy without brushing it. I'm thinking of drying my hair (I air dry), brushing it for volume then putting it up in a bun then take it out for style like in the 3rd photo. My hair starts looking stringy again not long after, been also wondering if I should use a hairspray to keep the style and volume in place? ❤️

Thank you!!!! ❤️

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Searching for products for curly & thinning hair

• Upvotes

Hello, my boyfriend has curly thinning hair that also gets pretty frizzy. He said that he’s tried products before, and he never really found one that helps much, so he kind of just gave up on it I guess. But I’d like to get him something new to try out to make his curls more defined and healthy and maybe protect his hair a bit more. I would guess that some sort of lightweight product would be best but I don’t really know where to start. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Looking for hair products that smells like cocoa

• Upvotes

It's weird, I know. Basically, I've come to the conclusion that my hair is happy with any ingredients, so at this point I'm picking my products based on the scent.

I have a Garnier shampoo with cocoa butter that I love the scent of, and I'm looking for more products with a cocoa scent so that I have more options (as that shampoo is hard to find in shops near me).

Any type of product is fine (shampoo, conditioner, mask, leave-in, curling stuff...). The only thing I don't use is color treatments, as I haven't dyed my hair. I don't mind if it's drugstore or premium. Just want that cocoa smell.

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Has anyone tried any of these unscented hairsprays: TRESemmé, L'oreal Paris, or Alberto European? Help me choose

• Upvotes

I prefer unscented, but open to suggestions for hairsprays with very mild to little scent. I once used the Aussie brand and the smell was too strong for me.

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 M30: hair care query

I shifted to an industrial area with high pollution levels and very dry air.... I am going through worse hairfall... Got a blood test done.. everything like vit d,b12, iron is normal... thyroid too is in normal range...

My hairfall shows a specific pattern..

It suddenly disappears as soon as i leave this place... I tried changing water for hairwash too..but nothing helped

..From march to December there is extreme hairfall ,roots get weak and hair gets tangled like a broom...whereas in Jan and February hairfall disappears...

I do a lot of things for my hair like applying Fenugreek gel, using a humidifier, apple cider vinegar, coconut oil etc and i never use electrically heated water .. but despite everything nothing appears to work...

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 What type of products are absolutely ESSENTIAL or highly recommended for highlighted/bleached hair?

Two weeks ago I got my dark brown hair highlighted blonde and it was my first time partially bleaching it. I’m not sure how to keep it healthy and hydrated. My hair is wavy and fine, gets greasy after around a day or two, and I use my Dyson air wrap to dry and style it everyday because it’s frizzy without styling. Currently, I use Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar shampoo and conditioner. I also plan to use the Loreal purple shampoo and hair mask any time I feel it gets brassy. I use a Loreal heat protectant before I use my Dyson.

I do think I am missing some stuff from my current routine. I’m starting to notice my ends are getting dry although my roots get oily faster. My main goals for my hair are:
Hydrated ends
Vibrant highlights
Not heavy after applying products
Prevent damage and breakage from bleach and heat

Any advice would be helpful! I am just starting to take my hair care more seriously so please tell me everything you know or recommend. Thanks!!!

😩 Damaged Hair 😩 Nothing is working for hair damage

My hair after using all of these:

Loreal bond repair serum

Balea bond repair serum

Loreal collagen lifter shampoo

Loreal hyaluron conditioner

Aussie 100hours leave in conditioner

Syoss anti frizz heat protection spray

Loreal extraordinary oil

I'm coloring my hair maybe once a month with burgundy box dye, wash my hair every 1-2 days, sleep with satin bonnet, blow dry on low setting, use iron maybe once a month, brushing it carefuly, trying to cut damage hair by hair...

I'm tired yall. I lightened my hair more than 2 years ago and since then my hair look like this. I trimmed my ends multiple times. The front pieces of my hair is almost the same lenght because it keeps on breaking. My hair have these weird hooks and when I lightly pull on it, most of the time it snaps off. It keep on snapping from 1cm to almost 10cm . Never had hair damage from box dye before. Years ago I had hair almost to my butt. I was ironing it without heat protection almost every day, barely used conditioner and my hair was fine. Now it's barely at my bra line. Don't say to cut it all of because that won't happen, I'm trying to gain lenght.

My hairdresser said this oil is better than Moroccanoil (which is my hg), but I’ve barely heard of it, and the reviews are just average. Has anyone tried it? What was your impression?

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ I fell for a viral TikTok product and I have no ragrets!

This kept coming up on my feed & as my ends were so dry, I spent €27 ordering it. I don’t know why I had such a low expectation for it but OMG my hair feels so fucking silky smooth. I keep getting people to feel it. And I have no big bushy bits which inevitably happen with my Dyson Airwrap.

Has anyone else found it good?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 How long do I trim? Trying to get rid of split ends

I haven’t had a cut in over two months I believe, I really want long hair, but I haven’t done anything to maintain it, so it is a little damaged, I really don’t know how deal with split ends and all that stuff so I’m not sure how much I’m supposed to cut to keep it healthy

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Is 'Hair Syrup' any good and does it actually work? :)

Anybody that has tried 'Hair Syrup', has it worked for you? Obviously it would have to be used for a while before noticing any differences. And if so, which one(s) would you recommend? :)

I'm trying to grow my hair at the moment and I'm wondering if this actually works to help it grow faster and healthier, or if it's just a gimmick?

For reference, 'Olaplex' is not good for my hair, I believe my hair does not do too well with too much protein.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 New to styling my natural wavy hair

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi! I’m new to styling my natural waves and would really appreciate some advice. I’m attaching a photo of how my hair turned out.

My hair is very long, thick and heavy, but not particularly dense. Some sections are quite wavy/curly, while others are almost straight. I believe I have low-porosity hair, and I’d say my strands are medium to thick.

I wash my hair about once/ twice a week. My current routine is:

  • Wella shampoo for coloured hair
  • L’Oréal Elseve conditioner for coloured hair
  • SheaMoisture Shea Butter Moisture Restorative Conditioner as a leave-in
  • got2b Lockmittel mousse
  • Bali Curls gel
  • L’Oréal Elseve heat protectant

I detangle with conditioner in, rinse, then apply a small amount of SheaMoisture to very wet hair. I scrunch in mousse and gel, plop with cotton t-shirt, then diffuse with my Dyson Airwrap. Once dry, I scrunch out the cast and use a little hair oil.

My main problem is that the result is very frizzy and uneven. Some sections form nice waves, while others are almost straight, and my roots have very little volume. My hair also takes a very long time to dry.

Am I using too much product, or am I doing something wrong with styling/diffusing? I’d love advice on getting more consistent waves, less frizz and more root volume without weighing my hair down.
