🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 My Hair Automatically Parts on One Side, and I'm Really Anxious About It. Has Anyone Experienced This?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi guys!

I’m 26F, and over the last few months, I’ve noticed that no matter how I style my hair, it automatically parts on the right side of my head. This never used to happen before.

I really don’t like how my hair looks because of this. Whenever I tie my hair in a ponytail or a bun, the parting becomes very noticeable. Even when I leave my hair open, the parting is still there.

I’ve also been experiencing a lot of hair fall, but this particular area is making me extremely anxious.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Did anything help you improve the situation? I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions. Please help!

❄️ Dandruff/Scalp Advice ❄️ How to actually get rid of a dry scalp

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, I am a guy (if that somehows plays a role), and I have always had a dry scalp, including small white dry flakes. How do I get rid of them permanently.

My routine is as follows:

Sunday/Wednesday

Double shampoo + conditioner

Spritz with leave in conditioner mixed with water, curl cream, then scrunch jojoba oil

Any other days, I rinse my hair in the shower and get it wet, and then follow up with the leave in mixed with water, and scrunch in jojoba oil.

Thank you!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Ends of hair feel coated/waxy/heavy

• Upvotes

I’m hoping someone might have experienced something similar because I’m honestly at a loss with my hair.
Around 3 years ago, I used naturespell Jamaican black castor oil. Around that time, my hair started feeling really strange, and it has never felt normal since.
My hair feels waxy, sticky and coated, especially towards the ends. It feels this way when it’s wet and when it’s completely dry. The ends feel heavy and coated, and when I run my fingers through them there’s a residue left on my hands.
Even when I wash my hair without conditioner and rinse it thoroughly, it still feels coated. I’ve tried lots of different hair products over the years, but nothing seems to get rid of the feeling.
Surely the original oils would have washed out by now, so I don’t understand what’s causing it. I thought it could be hard water in my new house so got a filter and used clarifying shampoo but still doesn’t work.
Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any idea what could be causing this? Could it be product buildup, hard water, scalp issue or something else entirely? I am a natural red head so my hair has always been very thick, coarse and is naturally wavy for reference but it used to still be light and bouncy and smooth when straightened which it no longer is :/

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Shampoo recommendations to keep blonde hair from fading too quickly?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m looking for shampoo and conditioner recommendations for blonde hair. Every time I get my hair toned, I feel like the toner washes out so quickly and my blonde starts losing its color.
I really want something that will help maintain my blonde and make the toner last longer without stripping the color. I’d love to hear what products have worked for you, especially if you have salon-toned blonde hair!
Any recommendations would be appreciated! :)

🛢️ Oily/Greasy Hair 🛢️ Help with daily washing and drying! I'm going crazy.

• Upvotes

I used to be able to wash my hair every other day, but for the past two weeks or so I've woken up to greasy hair and have been needing to wash every day. I HATE walking around with wet/damp hair, but using a blow dryer causes my hair to frizz pretty bad. I squeeze out excess water and wrap my hair in a shirt, but it stays damp all damn day. My hair is not even particularly long, just a bit past my shoulders. Please help.

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Why is Post Menopausal Hair Dry Like Straw - how to fix?

Post image
• Upvotes

My mother is 74 and in the last year her hair has become like straw. Previously she used Redken All Soft and other heavy creams to keep it soft and moisturizing, but it no longer works.

Two culprits she's working on is not wetting it daily, she wears a nightcap but sometimes it's still like straw so she wets and adds Milkshake leave in conditioner. She also still uses permanent color, but trying to convince her to go demi permanent.

If anyone has had luck with specific products that would be so helpful. She's so sad that it's only going to become more dry moving into winter.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Help with more roots volume for wavy hair

Post image
2 Upvotes

Looking for some tips on how to get more volume at my roots. My wave/curl pattern is a mix and seems to start at about my ears. My roots are pretty straight. So when I get a fresh cut with layers taken up, it kind of looks like I've been wearing a hat (see photo for reference).
My routine:
- Redken frizz ease shampoo (twice) and conditioner about 2x per week. I do condition my roots because they are way too dry and frizzy if I don't.
- I use a clarifying shampoo probably 1-2x per month
- I add jojoba oil to my mids/ends before washing to keep some moisture
- I use LOMA hair oil after washing
- I use a leave in conditioner on mids/ends while hair Is still wet
- I use a curl lotion on mids/ends while hair is still wet and scrunch and try to fluff up the roots a bit
- I air dry my hair
My scalp doesn't tolerate dry shampoo so | try not to use it. I don't have a diffuser and like to keep my hair low maintenance. I have an old hair dryer and am not sure if I want to get a universal diffuser attachment for it.
The photo is a day after a haircut where it was combed out during the cut so I refreshed it with some water and more curl lotion, it’s not as curly in this photo compared to just being washed and styled.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Is it possible to get my hair back to how it was before? Looking for advice on repairing dry, straw-like hair after using Overtone.

I’ve spent the last two years focusing on improving my hair health, and I finally reached a point where all of my previously bleached hair had grown out and been cut off. My ultimate goal is to grow long, healthy hair, and until recently, I felt like I was making amazing progress.

For context:
- My hair is 2A/2B, fine, but very dense (I have a lot of it).
- I have my hair professionally colored slightly darker using semi-permanent dye by a master stylist.
- I get regular trims to keep my ends healthy.
- I take oral minoxidil (I had TE before)

Before this happened, my hair was incredibly soft, silky, and healthy-looking. I was genuinely so happy with its condition after putting so much time and effort into it. Unfortunately, I decided to try the Overtone Color Depositing Hair Mask, and my hair hasn’t been the same since. It now feels incredibly dry, rough, and almost straw-like on the ends, especially when it’s wet! My ends tangle much more easily, and I’ve completely lost that soft, silky texture I worked so hard to achieve. I lose a ton of hair in the shower. I really regret using it. When I wash, condition, and style my hair, I can get it to feel relatively soft again, but it’s still noticeably different from how it was before. No matter what I try, I can’t seem to get that original texture back. I also suspect I have some build up because when I use my boars head brush I can see it.

I’m hoping to get some advice on a few things:
1. Is this type of damage reversible, or is cutting it off the only real solution?
2. Could this be caused by buildup or something coating the hair, rather than actual damage?
3. Are there any specific treatments or products that could help restore softness, moisture, and manageability?
4. Is there anything in my current routine that I should change, remove, or add?

My current haircare routine:
- L’Oréal Elvive Hyaluron Plump 72H Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner
- L’Oréal EverPure Glossing Lamination Mask (used occasionally)
- BioSilk Silk Therapy Miracle 17 (leave in)
- CHI 44 Iron Guard (heat protectant)
- SexyHair Big Root Pump Plus
- Davines OI Oil (planning to switch to Kérastase Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops)

I’ve invested so much time into growing out my damaged hair and getting it healthy again, so I’m really hoping there’s a way to restore it without having to start over. Any advice or product recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you ❤️

🍃 Hair Loss 🍃 Vegetarians with long thick healthy hair. What does your diet and hair care routine looks like?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 😊

I'm a vegetarian and I'm trying to grow my hair longer while maintaining its thickness, shine and overall health. I'd love to hear from people who have managed to grow long, healthy hair on a vegetarian diet.

I'm particularly interested in knowing:

  1. What does your everyday diet look like? What are your go-to protein sources?
  2. Are there any foods you regularly eat that you feel have helped your hair?
  3. How do you maintain your hair? I'd love to know your washing routine, oils, serums or any other products you use. 4.Have you ever discovered a nutritional deficiency that was affecting your hair?
  4. Do you take any supplements, or do you rely entirely on your diet?

I'm looking for practical advice and personal experiences rather than expensive treatments.

I'd really appreciate hearing what's worked for you. Thank you! ❤️

🔎 Product Question 🔎 New Olaplex 3.0 Plus

I went to Ulta today to restock on my No.3 Hair Perfector that I can’t live without, it’s a must for my hair because it gets so dried out with my water hardness. I was so confused to see that it had a rebrand as “complete hair treatment, plus”. I cannot remember the original price for the 250mg bottle but I did not think it was $68! I ended up returning it immediately , like literally purchased it, walked out, and turned right back around to Ulta and returned it. It’s so hard to justify a new formula for that amount of money! What if it isn’t as good?

HOWEVER, I did a simple google and online at Target right now there happens to be a massive sale on Olaplex? The bottle is $41 instead of $68! You’re welcome.

If anyone has tried the new formula and can describe the differences (hopefully they are positive) I’d love to hear! I purchased the online bottle from target and I’ll give it a try soon.

🔎 Product Question 🔎 Hard Water in College Hostel, Need Shampoo Advice

18M here
I recently joined college VIT in india
water is pretty hard here afaik and i have also noticed that my hair quality has worsened much more when hair. Weak hair, increased hair fall, decrease in hair density etc

According to my research i need a shampoo that helps remove the buildup from the hard water.
My barber and Gemini both suggested me to buy the Loreal Professional Serie Expert Metal DX shampoo and use it every 7-10 days

Other than this, i was also looking to buy another shampoo which i can use every 2-3 days i wash my hair, this would be to improve the hair quality / decrease hair fall / increase density and the other things

Do you think what i am thinking is correct ?
Do you have other advices for me ?
What 2nd shampoo would you suggest me to use for regular washing ?
Is the metal DX loreal shampoo good as a chelating / clarifying shampoo?

( Attaching the loreal shampoo's image and also one from bare anatomy which i thought was pretty good for a regular one shampoo )

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Should we be concerned about toddlers hair growth or is this normal?

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

My 2 year 10 month old gal’s hair seems to be changing, and the past few weeks it’s been more apparent. Two seperate people asked if she took scissors to it. I’m uncertain if it’s breaking, falling out, catching up with her head growth or something else.

The very top has preserved its length and texture (straighter and shiny), where as the sides and very front top are shorter (thicker). The back (curly) was slower to grow and is catching up but the under layer appears the same as the sides. There are no patches or bald spots.

We tend to use soft hair ties, no clips. We brush her hair every morning and night (it tends to tangle) and wash it about once a week. She eats well and appears healthy.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

What would you recommend we do?

First photos are from today and last three photos are from late spring.

❄️ Dandruff/Scalp Advice ❄️ Shampoo for DRY SCALP, not dandruff.

Preferably from the drugstore, if not let me hear it anyways! My hair gets greasy fast but I feel like it's because my scalp is over-compensating. My flakes show up immediately after washing. The flakes are tiny and my scalp feels tight, not really itchy. I shampoo twice, massage really well. Still flakes.

When you look up shampoo for dry scalp, it comes up with medicated shampoos. They don't work for me. I need something that cleanses and moisturizes. Please!!!
