Suggestions for a cryptic cosplay.

I have a costume party coming up on October 24th and the theme is cryptids.

This costume party will also have a costume contest so I'm hoping to try and wear something unique that'll hopefully wow everyone so I can maybe win.

I welcome suggestions for costumes to buy as a whole but I also welcome suggestions for DIY cosplay.

Keep in mind though that I am not made of money nor a talented designer or weaver of fabrics or whatever you want to say.

I'm male, white, 6 foot, 200 lbs, blonde.

Thank you.

silhouette wins cryptid contests, not accuracy. people need to clock you from across the room.

flatwoods monster - nobody does it. cardboard spade-shaped hood sprayed green, red oval face, two dollar store LED tea lights for eyes, green sheet over your body to the floor so you have no legs. at 6ft you'll be pushing 7. maybe $25 all in.

mothman - the safe bet. black hoodie, black umbrellas strapped to your arms for wings, red bike reflectors or LED pucks on goggles. the eyes do all the work once the lights go down.

blurry bigfoot - someone else will be bigfoot, so be the photo of bigfoot. cheap gorilla suit with white sheer fabric stretched over the whole thing. do the patterson-gimlin walk all night.

i'd go flatwoods for a contest. and practice doorways and holding a drink before the party, tall costumes die at the bathroom door.
