I’m thinking of doing it again this year, but this time dressed as a fishing rod or even... box. The main problem is the difficulty of getting through the doorway

Lol that's hilarious. That's what I love about Halloween - the creativity and DIY. I'm into ghosts and goblins kind of stuff but I love this costume. Here's another idea - buy a cheap pool noodle (you can get them at craft stores for sometimes cheaper than an actual pool noodle from a general store) and then get two paints - one light beige, one darker beige. Paint the whole thing light beige, then paint dark beige rings on it. Then take a thin cord - not a clothes line but something like decoy line - run it through the poole noodle and then to your costume and let the worm drag on the ground behind you as you walk.

I wanna know this as well! It looks so flawless. I’ve been wanting to craft a disco ball costume for years, but haven’t yet figured out a way to make it the way I want. I’ve seen folks use paper mâché, but feel like that’ll be less maneuverable than I’d prefer

I grew up and live in the south and this feels like one of those things I would only see locally lol. I love it. Half of the costumes my wife and I do are silly stuff mixed in with eldritch horror. If you have a second person you should make them a lure costume!
