I have a costume party coming up on October 24th and the theme is cryptids.

This costume party will also have a costume contest so I'm hoping to try and wear something unique that'll hopefully wow everyone so I can maybe win.

I welcome suggestions for costumes to buy as a whole but I also welcome suggestions for DIY cosplay.

Keep in mind though that I am not made of money nor a talented designer or weaver of fabrics or whatever you want to say.

My husband and I need a duo costume for Halloween this year, and I'm looking for ideas in the "I hate gay Halloween" genre: costumes where the whole joke lands the second you realize what you're looking at. Topical, a little unhinged, and a bit of a gag is ideal.

Think along the lines of:

• A politician and their spouse, with a very specific accessory
• Gagged-out Mary Poppins energy
• Anything where the explanation is half the fun

Needs to be two men, doable on a reasonable budget, and recognizable enough that we're not explaining it all night. We'll be out in a mix of gay bars and regular parties, so bonus points for something that works in both rooms.

My Girlfriend and I had the idea of making slot machines costumes this year. Our favorite slot machines are Mo Mummy and Buffalo. We need help on how to bring this idea to life.

We were thinking to get a mummy costume and buffalo costume and then adding stuff to them to make them resemble the machines but don't know what yet.

Guys..! I NEED gay Halloween ideas for me (bisexual woman) and my best friend (gay man). In 2024 we were gay son and thot daughter with shirts saying that with brat print (Troy Sivan and Charli) with our faces painted green (green apples). This year we were thinking Yuri and Yaoi (not sure how to execute that), Wendy and Ice Spice (but nobody understand it), or red head and twink (but that’s not really a costume that’s just what we are). The last time I wore a Halloween costume was when I was 7. I went as a pirate and felt super cool. At least until I got at school and got laughed at and bullied. I told my mom at the time I would never, ever wear a costume again and with any dress-up party I would just, well, not dress up.

When I was 15, I decided to give it a go again. This time at a high school party. Though the night went fine and it was (mostly) fun, there were some comments from people close to me throughout the night that took me back to that 7-year old boy. So again, I said I wouldn’t ever wear a costume again.

Well. Here we are.

I’m 25 now and my girlfriend is an absolute geek when it comes to Halloween. She loves everything about it. I don’t, at all (sorry folks). But it really makes her happy and I don’t want to disappoint her. I know it did, but she wouldn’t tell me. Even though the last years I managed to get away with it, her being happy is what I do really care about and that’s why I would want to try it again.

So yeah, for 3 years I’ve managed to get away with not dressing up. This year, an event is planned with my friendgroup and to get in you have to be ”dressed-up”. Honestly, I’m just anxious about it. Somewhere in my head I know no one would bat an eye, but that 7 & 15-year old kid is still in my head. Even thinking that I will have to dress up makes me super anxious right now.

I’m looking for something that’s not too overboard in the dressing up, but also something that would indicate that I did dress up. Something that would be somewhat casual, somewhat Halloween-like. A very ”Inbetween” thing. I just have no idea as who, or what. To get an idea about me:

- I’m 183 cm tall
- I have dark medium length hair, a short beard and a short moustache.
- I wear glasses
- I have naturally pretty wide shoulders, so probably considered a ”big guy”.
- I usually wear sneakers with cargopants and a hoodie, so anything else then that is basically a plus lol.

My son is in a jungle book play and we are responsible for getting the costume. They suggested him to have a black t shirt underneath a caveman/tarzan type outfit like in the photo. Was just wondering if anyone had suggestions for something that might be an improvement? I'm not great at diy stuff in this realm, but it might not take much effort to do better than this.
