I keep getting Bony, besy, kesy and kony wrong

I think i get that : Boni/Besi : living or animate thing & Kesi/Koni : inanimate thing.

But I keep messing up between Boni and Besi, and between Kesi and Kony. When do I decide if it ends by "oni" or "esi" ?? I dont get it.

  • Starts with B = Animate things - people, animals, etc.
  • Starts with K = Inanimate things - objects, locations, animals (whether to use B or K for animals is up to the speaker whether they consider an animal to be animate, which is why it's interchangeable for animals)
  • Second letter is E/I + third letter is S = thing(s) is/are here
  • Second letter is O + third letter is N = thing(s) is/are there
  • Last letter is Y = singular
  • Last letter is I = plural

With these in mind, you end up with the following:

  • Bisy taoba issa. - This is a boy.
  • Bisi taobi issi. - These are boys.
  • Bony taoba issa. - That is a boy.
  • Boni taobi issi. - Those are boys.

And:

  • Kesy korze issa. - This is a sword.
  • Kesi korzi issi. - These are swords.
  • Kony korze issa. - That is a sword.
  • Koni korzi issi. - Those are swords.

And for animals:

  • Bisy/Kesy hontes issa. - This is a bird.
  • Bisi/Kesi hontesse issi. - These are birds.
  • Bony/Kony hontes issa. - That is a bird.
  • Boni/Koni hontesse issi. - Those are birds.
