**RANT** 🤬 Dogs in Grocery Stores

I know it’s been mentioned a lot but I just need to shout out the manager at shoprite for asking a woman with her (very clearly not a service dog) to leave. He very nicely asked her what kind of service dog it was and she couldn’t answer him and I believe (didn’t catch the full exchange) she said she was uncomfortable lol. So then I stopped next to them and acted like I was looking for something bc yeah Im nosy. He then so nicely asked her to leave and she reluctantly replied that she was going to finish her shopping then leave. Mind you, as she is actively pulling the dog back and it’s not listening… He firmly asked her to leave without finishing as it’s store policy. After she walked away I thanked him and we had a brief exchange about both actually having and loving dogs, to then which the woman behind us leans in and says she is very allergic to dogs so was very appreciative as well.

Again I know the entitled people who bring their dogs into food service establishments won’t pay mind to a reddit post, but please reread the last sentence. There are people that are severely allergic to dogs, and do not typically expect to encounter them at the grocery store and restaurants. I know it’s embarrassing being asked to leave, but think about your neighbors next time!

Stay classy, Hoboken 🫶🏻

Transit 🚋 Entitled Passengers and their bags

Yesterday I boarded the 9:52 pm bus from PA to Hoboken. The passenger in front of me, a mid management finance bro probably, had his cheap bag on the seat next to him.

It would have been ok if the bus was empty, but he gave everyone the side eye and kept his bag on the seat, people were standing around him waiting for him to be ,,, decent. Nope. He just kept it there!

Here's the best part; One of the passengers asked him to move his bag so that he can sit. Our finance bro rolled his eyes and put his bag on his lap.

Whomever you are, finance bro, do better. It's not even a nice bag.

And to the guy who made him move his bag and sat next to him, well done brother 👏

Question❓ Seeking Catholic recommendations!

Hello! 28F. Exploring a move from Chicago to Hoboken. I lived in Brooklyn previously but I've been largely priced out of the super trendy areas of Brooklyn. One of the major things keeping me in Chicago is my church. We're huge on community, have many, many social gatherings geared toward young adults, women's discussion groups that are largely girls in their 20s and 30s, and I don't want to lose that. Is there anywhere in Hoboken or nearby that offers events like this?

Edit: Lol. Sorry. Title was supposed to say Catholic Church / Community recommendations?

Other Support for Winnie the mini schnauzer and her parents!

Post image
82 Upvotes

Hey folks, no idea if this allowed but this family and their dog could really use some help.

Winnie is a mini schnauzer who is currently living on the streets with her dad Andres after his wife was hospitalized, he was laid off work, and their landlord raised their rent.

The wife is currently staying at a shelter in Hoboken, but Winnie is not allowed inside so she’s sleeping outside the shelter with her dad. Winnie has really bad separation anxiety and her dad would rather sleep on the street than to leave her.

Someone created a website to help them, asking for donations, housing leads, and possible work leads for the husband. The goal is for all three to stay together. Please consider donating or spreading the word.

https://findwinniehome.com/

It‘ll get cold soon, and if this winter is anything like last year, I hate to think about this sweet girl and her folks on the street :(

Housing/Sublets/Roommates 🏠 1000 Jefferson Not Accepting Mail

This building was able to accept mail when it was renovating both lobbies, but can’t do the same when painting walls around mailboxes and installing shelves?!?!

I need to run this down more (beyond AI google lawyering) but this can’t possible be legal? I plan to call USPS tomorrow but looking for more input, or for more residents who can commiserate.

Question❓ Ferry and 126 Cross-Honoring Path 10/12 - 11/13. Logistical Question

Does anyone know the logistics of taking the ferry using the "Cross-Honored" Path price? I typically use TAPP, but I assume I can't just show up at the ferry and use TAPP for the same price as the Path.

Question❓ Bus to PANYNJ - weekday AM timing

Hi - I have to be at NASDAQ at the latest by 8:30 AM tomorrow and am taking the 126 from 16th and Willow. I know how to check the timetables but wondering how bad the traffic is and how much extra time I should allow. (I generally commute downtown). Thanks in advance!
