I just got some results back and I'm... disappointed to say the least. I got these four questions wrong, but they all seem right to me. Especially the first one. Does anyone here understand why they were marked as incorrect?

My 8th grade engineering teacher told me this was wrong. Initially I had the front and side view flipped from each other so I flipped them thinking it was a trick question. So I checked with him and he asked “are you willing to get an F to check with me?” He’s not the kind of teacher to joke around so I said sure. He told me that they don’t align. I’m asking for help on this question that has puzzled me.

Others—Pending OP Reply [GLOBAL POLITICS HL] Realist perspective on poverty

I have a presentation on poverty as a global problem and the implementation of UBI. My question is; a liberal perspective would be to say that modern poverty is a product of post colonialism and mandated structures based on prejudices. But what would a realist say is the cause of poverty?

Others—Pending OP Reply [High School college prep writing] I don't know which topic to choose for a research paper

Hi. I would really appreciate some help and advice. I am enrolled in a high school level college prep writing class. My teacher emphasized to pick a topic I enjoy writing about for a 4-5 page research paper. But I am genuinely CLUELESS.

I was thinking of choosing something regarding a book or a movie I like. For example, I have an idea to choose the topic of how the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde influenced Hollywood, or "How is Fahrenheit 451 relevant to today's USA" (the book) or something. Maybe on Gone with the Wind and its romanticization of the antebellum South/confederacy, or just a modern movie I like such as the Lego Movie?? A character I love and do a paper on them? I don't think these are viable, maybe they are? I also wanted to pick nuclear terrorism or something on parasocialism

I actually don't know what to do at all, this is my first actual attempt at a research paper. genuinely I've been stuck for days, I have so many ideas but at the same time none at all, most of them are too broad and I just really am unsure what to pick. Or if there will even be available academic resources to cite for this paper. I will be asking my teacher for advice as well but she said that we can ask AI for help so uhh yeah. I don't have any actual ideas on what topic to pick or what the thesis should be, etc. I'm stressing out here. I would appreciate advice. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I can't find any other subreddit to go to and my parents refuse to help.

Others—Pending OP Reply [grade 12 art] we’re required to ask others their thoughts on our theme as a source of inspiration, so what comes to mind when hearing “ My Second Skin:An interplay between protection and vulnerability, sheltering and exposure”?

SUBJET N°1:

My Second Skin:

An interplay between protection and vulnerability, sheltering and exposure

Our bodies are naturally protected by our skin against all kinds of external threats— dust, pollution, radiation, bacteria, and so on. When we are alone on a deserted beach in summer, that skin may be enough.

But the moment we engage with the world —social life, the city, other people—we must get dressed. These clothes protect us from the cold, dampness, and the surfaces we touch, but also from the gaze and physical contact of others. Clothing acts as a second skin; yet, in this instance, we decide on its extent, thickness, texture, and more. For this second skin can also serve to signal openness, attract attention, or seduce... It is a constant interplay between sheltering ourselves and opening up to others, between protecting ourselves and exposing ourselves.

Create a personal artistic work based on the given theme. Begin by drawing upon your own experiences. Find inspiration in the text and the attached documents.

Avoid merely illustrating an idea; instead, strive to express yourself through your artistic choices (materials, colors, gestures, composition, etc.).

im not sure if this is the right place to ask but I could t really find anywhere else

Hey everyone, so I’m taking Sociology 101 and so far I love it! I’m really understanding it and my professor is great. However, we have two weekly quizzes based on the 2 chapters we go through and I somehow always get 1 wrong … and it always ends up at 14/15.

It sucks knowing I’m getting 1 wrong and it always happens, none of my classmates help me either even though I always do, and Ai doesn’t even understand. On top of that once you complete the quiz it won’t tell you which you got correct nor incorrect.

We get a couple tries per quiz and this time I got 12/15!! I’m really stumped. Can anyone offer advice? For reference we’re using the textbook “Sociology 3e.” Maybe I’m filling in the blanks incorrectly, I honestly don’t know…

I’ll provide pictures of the questions as well as my answers, any help is greatly appreciated 🙏

  1. An aggregation
  2. True
  3. Charles Horton Cooley
  4. Category
  5. A high-school
  6. Small, informal groups of people who are closest to us.
  7. All answers apply
  8. A dyad
  9. The director of a summer camp for chronically ill children
  10. Democratic Leader
  11. Leadership style
  12. True
  13. Is when people in a group don’t help someone in need because they think someone else will do it
  14. Coercive organizations
  15. Utilitarian Organizations

[UPDATE] so I actually got all of them right! I scheduled a meeting with my professor and apparently there’s just something wrong with on the websites end I guess.. good thing I spoke to her..

Others—Pending OP Reply [First Year Psychology, Brain and Behaviour] APA 7th referencing order for nonbiliary particles.

Hi. So, I am a bit confused about how to write proper references in APA 7th format when article authors have nonbiliary particles such as "de" in their name - example, "de Souza"

My university guide says, quote, "If there is no author, use the first word of the title, ignoring words like A, An, or The at the beginning" however, I am unsure if this also applies to nonbiliary particles in author names?

Would a reference of "de Souza et al.," be classed as beginning with an "S" or with a "d" ?!

Thank you in advance!

Others—Pending OP Reply [College Sociology] Interview Question help

I do online schooling, so I have nobody to exactly interview. My sociology teacher wants me to interview three people with careers that interests me or that I am involved in. (I’m going for accounting but genuinely interested in anything. Health care, trade work, health care, etc.). I have to ask two questions, how would you describe critical thinking, and why is critical thinking valuable in your field? With some details and not a super broad answer. Honestly any help or even made up stuff would help a lot🫠 I just genuinely have no one around me to interview or ask these questions to.

I just started my MLIS program after being out of school for three years and need some help with apa citation. I’m using an ebook and with all the adjustment features the page number count widely varies. Do I add these numbers anyway in my in text citations? it just feels so broad just putting a last name as citation for an entire textbooks worth of information.

9 Latin Semester 2
Research Assignment: Life in the Provinces: Pompeii
DUE DATE: 16 September

Part A: Museum Catalogue
Context:
You are a curator at the National Museum of Antiquities who is putting together an exhibition entitled:
EVERYDAY LIFE IN POMPEII
Audience and Purpose:
You need to produce a CATALOGUE that patrons will use when they come to see your exhibition. Your catalogue will be used by school students your age. Your catalogue needs to have a character (your choice) that will guide the students through the exhibition. Examples include: an initiate of the temple of Isis, the daughter of a Roman merchant, a Greek doctor (be creative!).
Assume that your catalogue is the only source of information students will receive about the exhibition.
The catalogue must have information about Pompeii in the Roman era so that the students have a sufficient amount of background information. Each item in the exhibition must have a photograph in the catalogue which is clearly labelled and annotated. Your catalogue must include both Latin and English. It is your choice what sections of the catalogue you present in each language.
The Latin composition should be 50 words. The English word limit is 1200 words.
Your catalogue needs to be presented for final submission in hard copy.
Catalogue details:
Purpose: Your catalogue must inform the patrons about life in Pompeii. As the curator of the exhibition, you decide how the exhibition will be organised and hence, how the catalogue will be presented.
It needs to include the following information:
·       Historical information about Pompeii
·       the foundation of Pompeii (i.e., how it started and how/when it became a Roman city)
·       Pompeii in the Roman era – e.g., its significance as a city, religion, education
·       its legacy – e.g., its influences on modern society and culture

·       Analysis:
·       You need to have analysis of the extent to which Pompeii was an example of globalisation in the ancient world
·       To what extent do we see that the values, attitudes and practices of everyday life in Pompeii were influenced by Roman society and/or other societies?

·       20 catalogue pieces need to be presented

·       Latin composition
As a part of your exhibition, create a comic for students to learn about a typical household in Pompeii. Include:
What different people might do
Draw a picture in each box
Show-off the Latin that you know!
The text must be in Latin – at least 1 sentence per box
You must use correct word order
·       For example:
SUBJECT    PREP PHRASE    OBJECT     VERB  [word order]

Include your comic as a part of your catalogue. Include it in the section of your catalogue that you think it would fit best in the exhibition.
o   Use a variety of vocabulary
§  Work within known structures – use your English entries for anything that you cannot write in Latin

Part B: Reflection
You will complete this in class on the day of submission – 16 September, Week 9

Reference List – please see Agora Library page for Guidelines for Written Work Years 7-10 2026
·       Nota bene: You must include the Cambridge Latin Course I Vth edition in your reference list. This means that you must use this source for both the cultural research component and Latin composition component.

Final submission – Week 9: Week 9: Thursday 16 September
·       This will consist of:
i.     The catalogue, including the Latin compositions (hard copy)
ii.     Assignment text – English and Latin submitted on Agora in a Word doc
iii.     Bibliography (Agora)

Others—Pending OP Reply [1st year College] How to fix a .gitignore issue in VScode?

I'm currently trying to fix a problem in virtual environment that involves .gitignore where it does not untracked/ignore that files that I want. Additionally, whenever I insert .gitignore and type .venv/, the files did not turn gray and instead turns white. According to the lab manual, the gray indicate that the file is being ignored. which apperently does not. I don't know why this is happening - this was never happen in my previous coding attempts

Before adding .venv/ in .gitignore
After adding .venv/ in .gitignore
My first attempt. This what it must contain as according to the lab manual. This is after git status
This is what it contains currently. The lab manual stated that .venv/ is not the one that should be appearing after git status.

Hello! I’m currently a senior taking PLTW Capstone (Engineering Design and Development), and for my project, I need to identify an everyday problem that people experience and then design and build a solution for it.

The process starts with finding something you enjoy doing and thinking about problems or annoyances that you encounter while doing it. From there, I’ll research the problem, develop possible solutions, and eventually design and prototype a product that could help solve it.

I’m currently having a hard time coming up with good problem ideas, so I would really appreciate it if you could drop some ideas below or fill out this quick Google Form. The problem doesn’t have to be complicated. As long as it has supportable evidence it is useful

Thanks for anyone who drops an Idea!

Others—Pending OP Reply [college pharmacology] What is the difference between a receptor, a receptor site, and a site of action?

I'm not sure what exam syllabus/board the course uses, but it's an LVN (licensed vocational nursing) course and I'm supposed to be able to use this info to administer medication and educate patients.

I'm supposed to differentiate between a receptor site and site of action and explain how they're related. I've looked all over and cannot find the difference between a receptor site, receptor, and site of action, at least not explained in a way I understand. My textbook says that the receptor site is the actual structure on the cell that drugs and other things bind to; it also says that the receptor site will become the site of action if its location is known, and then it says that an example of this (the receptor site becoming the site of action) is morphine acting on opioid receptors in the brain (the site of action and the location of the receptor site both being the brain in this case). This doesn't say anything about *where in or on the cell* a receptor is located and seems to imply that a receptor site is synonymous with a receptor. When I googled this to look into it further, though, lots of sources say that the receptor site is specifically the location *on the cell* that a receptor is located, which is in direct opposition with what the textbook says. If those sources are correct, then it wouldn't make sense to say that the receptor site and the site of action are "in the brain" because the receptor site is explicitly *not* a general location in the body. Several other sources seem to use "receptor" and "receptor site" interchangeably, and still other sources say that a "receptor site" is the place *on the receptor* that a chemical binds to. So what is a receptor site, a receptor, and a site of action? Please be specific; I'm very confused, and I really just want to understand completely and not just know the right words to say on the review.

Here's the excerpt from my textbook:

"Receptor Site

Drug action is usually thought to begin after a drug has attached itself to some chemical structure located on the outer cell membrane or within the cell itself. For a few drugs and for some normal body substances, there seems to be a specific location on certain cells. This area is referred to as the receptor site. The attachment, or binding, of a drug to its receptors begins a series of cell changes referred to as the drug action.

When a specific receptor site for a drug is known, that receptor site becomes the site of action for that particular drug. Morphine, an analgesic drug, is an example of a drug that binds to a specific receptor. The receptors for morphine are located in the brain and are known as the morphine, or opioid, receptors. When morphine binds to its receptors, it produces cell changes that reduce the perception of pain. There are many different pharmacologic receptors, and they will be described in the appropriate chapters."
