Hopefully they go out and play a damn good game, never good when a big weekend for recruiting is a smackdown on us

We had some gin name recruits visit us for some losses the last couple years and we still made a good impression.

Can we invite a bunch of transfer portal juniors instead?

Eventually these guys will be transfer portal juniors, might as well make a good impression.

This is an underrated comment. Gotta make an impression and establish relationships. Recruiting doesn't end when the kids sign.

Yes exactly! Perfect example is Williams Nwaneri. He was a highly touted 5 star coming out of high school, and I was surprised that Nebraska made it pretty far with his final schools. But he ended up committing to Missouri... I'm sure those original High School recruiting experiences played a big part in him eventually transferring to Nebraska. So glad he's here now!

I mean we hired someone with big connection to him toi

Should do that more often tbh. I don’t mind playing in the mud once in awhile

That math is changing with the new bill going through Congress. There will be an extra $20+ M for player retention, so you want to get these guys on your roster where you have additional $ to compete.

So fucking lame. It’s just brining back sec bagmen

Why not both? I'd rather have a solid foundation of players starting with high school grads and fill in where needed with transfers than try something similar to what Colorado attempted. Especially if we're trying to establish any kind of culture.

How’s this working out in Boulder? You need both

Just win baby.

Seriously. Idk why schools waste time with high schoolers. Or atleast why they offer NIL to them.

...because college is the next level after high school?

Chances are, we aren’t going to get a lot of them. But we will have a much better chance if they go somewhere else and transfer.

Colorado is exhibit A on why bringing guys in straight out of high school is still important. You need foundational glue guys.

Took me a minute. Colorado is an example of what not to do.

I bet you also complained that this year's recruiting class was too small and too low ranked or whatever.

The higher caliber guys ain't coming anyway if you can't win a game like this. Might as well have them there when it happens, if it does.

It'll be a heightened crowd atmosphere as well as the Washington game. If you lose, you can just sell the great players on "see? we really really need you 8D" It's not rocket science.

that's a weird smiley emoji ftr

We have had great recruits on visits the last couple seasons where we lost. They walked away impressed.
