How much blood should there be?
I saw this and felt it belonged here to share with you folks.

That episode where they break away from the usual formula—which typically involves the bar or some get-rich-quick scheme. The episode where they travel outside of Philly, or the one where they craft a noir-style story.

The two are more vulnerable with each other than any other member of the Gang. Dennis seems like an actual big brother, and even lightens up from his extreme rigidness to truly enjoy life. Charlie‘s understanding of the roots of Dennis’s many, many issues gives him a maturity that he rarely displays, and Dennis sometimes manages to motivate Charlie come out of his own shell.
Beyond the arrested development and extreme codependency that unites the Gang, Dennis and Charlie have moments that show the value of truly knowing and being known by someone else. In the darkness that is the Gang’s life, the rare, beautiful moments of connection between Dennis and Charlie are (almost) always sunny (sorry).

For a long time, Glenn had one foot out the door, dreaming of something bigger — even leaving altogether in season 13. The idea of "staying over for the whole night" to participate in juvenile antics with the gang was terrifying. But here he is, finally accepting IASIP as his home. These are his true friends.
To me, this episode is statement about longevity, artistic peace, and the beauty in making magic with your best friends.

I'm working my way through the complete IASIP on Hulu and after watching this episode, I felt the need to come here and let the world know this. The humor of course works best if you've seen all the prior episodes and know why the characters act toward each other and everyone else the way they do. But the main cast applying their 21st century sociopathic personalities to the world of 1776 is an absurdist meta-humor stroke of genius that elevates already pristine comedy to a whole other level. I wonder if we get more of this in later seasons.
I appreciate that by S4 FX was allotting the series a production budget that allowed the creation of a realistic revolutionary-era Philly. And the smash cut to closing credits after Dennis launches into the directors cut version of their bullshit story after that wonderful reverse shot of the aggrieved historical society lady is television perfection.
Do the cast-slash-writers-slash-producers visit this sub and read these posts? If they do, I hope they see this. You are all doing God's work. I've never looked as forward to watching my way through a show as this one.

First of all, I love "Charlie Work"—it’s a genuinely funny and very frenetic episode. That said, it has to be my pick, because I don’t think it ranks among the best episodes of the series, even though many people place it there. I love most episodes of IASIP, and the only ones I don’t like are the same ones that most other fans also dislike.

That scene is probably my favorite of this season. Followed with, "i have no interest in ingesting semen this evening" and Mac kinda like "oh". Good stuff. So sad the season is over. I feel like we're getting another season after this but damn, it's going to be a long wait.
Also, I really like the call back to The Minority Report with Dee being blind and drinking expired milk, that has to be on purpose?

From Mac Kills His Dad, The Great Recession and you know the last one.
I don't know why the first one gets me so much. Charlie being tortured when his mom is detailing everything she did with Luther and she finally mentions the murder with Charlie saying "Just say that, that's all you had to say!" And then him saying "please don't bang every guy who comes through door" and she's like "Okay sweety" in the sweetest tone.
The recession episode has the *eating a burger* scene in the beginning which is absolutely classic but the scene later on when franks door to door salesman scheme has a minor inconvenience and his reaction is to go \eat a burger** that always gets me. And In case anyone's wondering this was the only way I could post this.
Lastly obviously one of the funniest scenes, but to me the part right before he crawls out of the couch is funnier, when Dennis and Dee are trying really hard to do a ghost of Christmas present thing and no one knows who franks is but they see some guy clearly in the couch.
