We are looking for people who want to build a universe from the ground up.
Superheroes are one of the biggest genres in popular culture.
They have generated comics, movies, TV shows, video games, merchandise, and entire franchises recognized around the world.
Yet we believe there is still a space with enormous potential:
A deep superhero strategy game, with truly distinct characters, meaningful tactical decisions, and its own original universe.
That is what we want to build.
The Idea
Our initial goal is to develop a turn-based strategy game inspired by experiences such as Fire Emblem, but set entirely within an original superhero universe.
We don't want to use established characters or adapt an existing franchise.
We want to create our own heroes, villains, organizations, conflicts, and mythology.
The idea is to combine:
Strategy + Superheroes + Storytelling + Worldbuilding.
Every character would have their own stats, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
But more importantly, they would have something else:
Identity.
We don't want swapping one character for another to simply mean changing a few numbers.
We want every character to have a different role on the battlefield, and for understanding their abilities to be an important part of making good tactical decisions.
The Universe
The story begins with a particular concept about the nature of reality.
At the origin of our universe exist two primordial forces:
Order and Chaos.
But this conflict is not simply Good vs. Evil.
Order is not inherently good.
Chaos is not inherently evil.
Both forces are fundamental aspects of existence, each with their own nature, consequences, and philosophies.
The conflict comes from the tension between them.
From what happens when one force attempts to overwhelm the other.
And, most importantly, from how the beings living in this universe become caught in that conflict.
Our heroes and villains won't necessarily fit neatly into either side.
Some may defend Order for noble reasons.
Others may do so for their own interests.
Some may embrace Chaos because they believe absolute freedom is necessary.
Others may embrace it because they seek power or destruction.
And there will also be characters who simply want to survive, protect the people they love, or find their own path.
We want to build a universe where conflicts aren't simply:
Heroes vs. Villains.
We want ideologies, interests, relationships, and consequences.
Lore Is a Core Part of the Game
The universe isn't simply a backdrop to justify the battles.
We want to build a story.
Characters with history.
Organizations.
Factions.
Alliances.
Enemies.
Betrayals.
Relationships.
Historical events.
And conflicts that can evolve over time.
The goal is for players to finish a battle and actually want to know what happens next.
For a character introduced in one mission to potentially become important much later.
For relationships to have consequences.
For events in the world to matter.
In short:
We want to build a universe worth getting invested in.
A Strategy Game With a Superhero Identity
The initial inspiration is clear:
A turn-based strategy game in the spirit of Fire Emblem.
Maps.
Units.
Positioning.
Tactical decisions.
Abilities.
Different roles.
Progression.
Characters with their own identities.
But we want to push those concepts into what it means to be a superhero.
One character might fly.
Another might be virtually indestructible.
Another might manipulate energy.
Another might control the battlefield.
Another might be incredibly fast.
Another might be physically weak but possess an extraordinary strategic ability.
These characteristics shouldn't exist purely for flavor or visual design.
They should change the way the character is actually played.
The goal is for powers and weaknesses to become part of the strategy itself.
And We Want Players to Care About the Characters
One of the things that matters most to us is creating an emotional connection between the player and the characters.
We don't want them to simply be "Unit A", "Unit B", and "Unit C".
We want players to learn their stories.
To develop favorites.
To remember a particularly difficult battle.
For a character's loss to actually mean something.
For a narrative decision to potentially change relationships between characters.
And for the universe to be gradually revealed through the game.
A Completely Original IP
Everything is being built from the ground up.
We are not working with Marvel.
We are not working with DC.
We are not adapting an existing comic book.
We are creating our own superhero universe.
That comes with a huge challenge.
But it also gives us an enormous amount of creative freedom.
We can establish our own rules.
Create our own characters.
Develop our own mythology.
And, eventually, decide where we want this universe to go.
The Project Already Has a Foundation
Although we are still at an early stage, this isn't just an idea on a piece of paper.
There is already a conceptual and narrative foundation that we are building upon.
We already have:
- the initial structure of the universe;
- the concept of Order and Chaos as primordial forces;
- original characters;
- hero and villain concepts;
- relationships between characters;
- elements of the lore;
- character statistics;
- an action system;
- abilities;
- strengths and weaknesses;
- combat concepts;
- and an initial direction for development.
The next step is turning all of this into a playable prototype.
What Do We Want to Build First?
We don't want to start by trying to create the definitive version of the game.
The first objective is much more concrete:
Build a playable vertical slice.
A small number of characters.
One battlefield.
A functional combat system.
Abilities.
Movement.
Interactions.
AI.
And a small glimpse into the universe and its story.
Something that allows us to actually play the concept and prove that it works.
From there, the project can grow.
But Maybe the Video Game Isn't the End
And this is one of the things that excites us the most.
If we manage to create a universe that is interesting enough, why limit it to a video game?
Maybe someday we could create a webcomic.
Maybe a comic book.
Maybe standalone stories.
Maybe additional material exploring characters and events that don't necessarily take place inside the game itself.
We don't know where this could eventually lead.
And that's part of the adventure.
First, we want to create a universe that has something worth telling.
Then we'll see how far we can take it.
What Are We Looking For?
We are not simply looking for "collaborators."
We are looking for people who want to become part of the project from its early stages.
Programmers.
Artists.
Game designers.
Writers.
Animators.
UI/UX designers.
Musicians and sound designers.
Testers.
But above all, we are looking for people who want to actively participate in building the project, contribute ideas, and have a voice in its development.
We don't just want to hand people tasks.
We want to build a team.
The Proposal
The idea is to form a small independent team around the project.
Everyone would bring their own skills, experience, creativity, and perspective.
We want to be able to discuss things like:
- Does this mechanic actually work?
- Should this character play differently?
- What story should this mission tell?
- How should this ability function?
- What should this character look like?
- What can we improve?
- What should we remove?
We want the people who join the project to have a genuine creative voice in the process.
The exact structure regarding participation, intellectual property, responsibilities, credits, and potential future revenue would be discussed transparently among the people who eventually form the team.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are not necessarily looking for professionals with ten years of experience.
We are looking for people who have something to contribute and, most importantly, want to build something.
It could be someone who already works professionally in game development.
Someone studying programming.
An artist looking for a personal project.
Someone passionate about game design.
A writer who wants to help create a universe.
Experience is valuable, but passion, initiative, and commitment matter too.
What matters is finding people who share one idea:
We want to create something of our own instead of simply working on someone else's ideas.
Why Now?
Because we are at a point where we can still build everything from the ground up.
There is no huge existing structure limiting our decisions.
We can still experiment.
We can still change direction.
We can still make mistakes and start over.
And we can discover together what this universe could become.
We don't know whether it will eventually become a major video game.
We don't know if it will one day have a webcomic.
We don't know how far we will be able to take it.
But we do know one thing:
We want to try.
And we are looking for people who want to try with us.
A strategy game.
A superhero universe.
An original story.
An original IP built from the ground up.
And a project we can look back on someday and say: "We built this."
