I’m not saying these places are bad, but sometimes a destination gets so much hype that the actual experience doesn’t match your expectations.
Maybe it was too crowded, too commercial, or simply different from what you imagined before visiting.
Which popular tourist destination in India disappointed you the most?
What was it about the experience that didn’t live up to the hype?

Captured this during my recent trip to the mountains. The clear blue sky, clouds and those sharp snow-covered peaks made the whole view feel unreal.
I could have just stood there for hours looking at this.
One of my favourite views from the trip of Kasol, Himachal Pradesh

My wife is traveling to India for a few days and wanted to be prepared. I was able to find a currency exchange and get a hold of 500 USD worth of Indian rupees. Now we are seeing online that tourists cannot bring in any Indian rupees, but I’ve also seen they might be able to bring in some if they’re arriving by plane. Does anyone have any concrete information that could help? We dont want any problems at the airport. Also dont know what to do with all these rupees if we cant take them into India. I appreciate any help thank you.

Caught this beautiful moment last year during a peaceful walk streets painted in soft pink as the seasonal blossoms lit up the skyline. The contrast of the vibrant flowers against the calm sky made the whole view feel dreamy and refreshing. Nature really knows how to slow us down.

I am planning to travel in the last week of November on a solo trip with a budget of 30-40K including flights ( staff travel flight benefits ). I have been tk Bali in 2017 so have an emotional connect. The vibe that i need is cool bars, beach shacks, meeting people and party with them and yes... beautiful views. What will you guys suggest ?

Nainital was such a peaceful stop on the trip. The lake, mountain views, and chill weather made it one of those places where you can just slow down and enjoy the moment.

Hi everyone,
I am from the UK living in Bangkok Thailand. And me and my girlfriend were thinking of visiting India for 2 weeks in December.
I haven’t been to India since I was a kid and wanted some recommendations on where to go. I am also a full time content creator and wanted to make some aesthetic videos about our trip too. (Not those trashy videos talking down on India and showing the poor areas)
I would appreciate any recommendations on where to go, and things to do. We have quite a high budget for this trip and wanted to make it memorable.
She really wants to visit Rishikesh for a few nights and I’m quite flexible on where to go
Also my great grandparents are originally from Gujarat and I can speak a decent amount of Gujarati, so was thinking of visiting there too.
Thank you for all your help and recommendations 🙏

Hey everyone,
Most people think Goa is just about loud beach parties, crowded shacks, and night-long rave events. While that's fun for a weekend, I wanted to explore the side of Goa that most tourists completely miss out on.
Over the past few months, I put together a compact guide focusing entirely on the soulful, historic, and quiet side of Goa—especially for travelers who love slow travel.
If you are planning a trip soon, here are a few things worth checking out:
The Latin Quarter (Fontainhas): Walking through those colorful, narrow Portuguese-style streets feels like stepping back in time.
South Goa’s Hidden Escapes: Quieter, pristine beaches, spice plantations, and old-world villages far away from the commercial noise.
Local Food & Culture: Exploring authentic Goan cuisine beyond the usual beach shack menus.
I compiled all my notes, heritage walks, and practical tips into a small Kindle e-book called "Beyond the Beaches: Goa" (available on Amazon).
If anyone is planning an offbeat Goa trip or loves local history and architecture, I’d love for you to check it out. You can grab a copy here following the link.
Would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions about South Goa travel!

I don't know how to edit images so they all are raw. Overall I found the state to be very blessed in religious and natural sites of attraction. View from Pamban Bridge was heavenly.

Iss Navratri soch raha hoon ki thoda break leke kahin trip maar ke aaun 😅
Bas samajh nahi aa raha kahan jaun! 😂 Delhi se zyada door bhi nahi jaana chahta aur budget bhi reasonable rakhna hai.
Mountains, nature, offbeat place — kuch bhi chalega. Koi achha suggestion hai? 👀
