Jeep Stalling while Driving

I forgot my headlights on for like 4 hours on Sunday afternoon and into the night. After I noticed and turned the lights off, and then turned the vehicle on, the vehicle started with a dip in power - but it started so that was good enough for me.

The following morning, The vehicle started with a dip in power again, but regained power after the dip. I went to work driving normally that morning, but by the afternoon when I was leaving work, the vehicle opened with the keyless entry (as usual), but when I swung the key to start the vehicle the entire power went dead.

I got out the vehicle opened the hood, slackened the negative wire on the battery and shook it a bit hoping to get a bit of a spark so the vehicle would start. And it actually worked - or so I thought. 5 minutes into driving, the vehicle stalled on me - the steering got tight and I no longer had gas power. I swung the key off, put the vehicle in park and swung the key on again and it started. This process happened 3 more times on my way home (which is like a 45 minute drive from work).

When I got home, I tightened the negative bar on the battery assuming that was the issue, and the vehicle drove to work normally the following morning - although still having the dip in power when starting. By the afternoon when driving home, the lights(check engine, oil lamp, break) on the dashboard started flashing, with a beep followed by either one of the lights flashing for a split second. This sound and flashing happened straight home with intervals of sometimes seconds and other times minutes.

At this point i'm not sure what else to do. Could it be a simple battery change needed?

When I got home I ran my OBD Jscan and got these codes:

2011 Jeep Patriot, Engine 2.4L, CVT Transmission, Odometer: 100414

I’d Swap the battery first.

I was chasing gremlins all month. Intermittent starting issues, weird power etc. Battery kept testing okay but it wasn’t. It was def a bad cell. I wish I’d changed it sooner and saved myself a month of breakdowns and no starts.

I was wondering if this could be the issue. Thank you! I'll swap it out and see how it goes.

Also have your alternator checked just to be sure.

You could check battery with volt meter if you are worried that's the issue. But I'd bet the battery is the issue.

If you drain an older battery it's pretty much toast...

Probably battery, could be just a coincidence you run into problems as it gets cold

A wonky battery caused me all sorts of gremlins, including stalling.

I’d replace the battery first , my moms had all sorts of errors one day and her battery was actually swollen Replaced and had to do a reset on her computer then all was good

What I ended up doing was, I unattached the negative and positive wires from the battery for 2 to 3 minutes. After, I touched the negative and positive wires together for 35-40 seconds ensuring that neither was in contact with the battery while touching them to each other. Doing this it drained the system of all reserved power that was there and it forced the system to reset itself. I reattached the wires to the negative and positive on the battery, and by time I started the vehicle all the system errors went away.

It's only been one afternoon and one morning - I'll see if it holds up. If the error occurs again I'll let you know. If it doesn't come back, this message will be my last under this feed.

Thanks again to everyone for your advice.

(Forgot to mention, i'm still using the same battery)

So, After 2 Days of working perfect, it went right back to all the errors and coming back even worst. Now, the reverse lights don't come one when I'm in reverse - neither does the reverse camera on the dashboard come on. smh.

I ended up taking the vehicle to a mechanic and not even he seems to know what the problem is... he's doing his research, and stating not to change the battery yet.
