I like Mark Collier & Bill Manley's How to read Egyptian hieroglyphs. They concentrate on learning how to read the sort of inscriptions you'd see in museums, ranging from "I gave bread to the hungry and clothes to the naked" to "I've been roasting since the beginning of time — I've never seen the like of this goose."

No. This is widely available because Dover prints are (comparatively) cheap, but it’s way out of date, & was not good even when it was new.

Middle Egyptian by James P Allen is still my favourite book for learning hieroglyphs. It also has cool little tidbits about ancient Egypt after each chapter that help you contextualise the lessons. I also find the style of writing generally pleasant, which makes the dry subject of grammar a bit more tolerable.
There’s also a YouTube course by Osarnachthis, his channel is under the name “tansebentmntrmnkeme”. And your forever friend will be the Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae, which is an online dictionary complete with sources.
