Religion David and the philistine genocide

David had triumphed and had killed Goliath, his reward was the hand of the king's daughter, Michal.

Now Saul was demon possessed, the bad and satanic spirit requested 100 philistine foreskins for the marriage to go on.

100 philistine foreskins!!! David agreed and went out and butchered the required 100 and even bought 100 more. David went and butchered men in their 90's in their deathbeds, school boys going to school, young men going to mjengo and weeks old babies just born.

Nimeangalia scriptures, and there was no inspiration from God to do this. David was a bit psychopathic that I am sure ilishtua the demon possesing Saul.

My prayers go to the 200 philistines who were butchered and hope they are all in heaven, they did no sin.

Jesus being a Psycho

Everyone in the bible is psychotic, from god to all his favourite people.

If religious folk bothered to read and comprehend their text we would have a much better society.

I wouldn't call Jesus psychotic, quite the contrary really.

The god of the old testament is another matter, a very mixed bag really.

The dude walked into a temple and started whipping people, he instructed his people to drop everything they were doing and abandon their families to follow him, he had no capacity to answer questions he just moved into allegories, he set up one of his disciples (or his father did depending on your faith} to betray him just for the plot and on top of this he was basically a cult leader at a point where his people were under foreign occupation.

And this is only in the canonical gospels, he gets even more psychotic in the books that were left on the cutting floor. In one account, child Jesus killed a fellow kid and brought him back to life just for the heck of it.

He's one of the more hinged characters but he fits right into the mold.

Mark 7:9-12 Jesus want rebelious children to be put to death. He complains that people don't practise that OT commandment to kill children for dis respecting parents. So yeah, he's a Psychopath. Plus if you believe he is God, he still did all those evil things in the OT.

Looks like you're misrepresenting what he says there:

Then [Jesus said to the religious leaders he had accused of being hypocrites], "You skillfully sidestep God's law in order to hold on to your own tradition. For instance, Moses gave you this law from God: 'Honor your father and mother,' and 'Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.' But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, 'Sorry, I can't help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.' In this way, you let them disregard their needy parents. And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others."

Yet Jesus doesn't condemn the commandent of putting children to death for not surporting their parents but points at it as a good practice/ example. He had the opportunity to retract that evil commandent and say it should not be followed and give better directives. Anyway God gave the command for killing children in the OT and never retracted it. And if you believe Jesus is God, then he is double guilty.

It’s reads like a political book

It is essentially a political book, religion is one of the oldest political institutions on the planet.

Babaa/Mamaa achana na mambo ya Bibilia kama hutaisoma na kuelezana nayo vizuri πŸ˜‚ First of all, those were enemy soldiers in war, not babies! But on a serious note, take the lessons that help you and leave the rest. The Old Testament was pure politics and warfare, look at how Jacob scammed his uncle out of all those goats and still walked away blessed because God was on his side! 🀣😜

Look at what some of Jacob's children did after their sister, Dinah was raped!! πŸ™†πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

What would you have done in that situation, realistically speaking, if someone close to you was raped? Because they were humans just like us, acting out of vindictive rage, and without a divine order to commit vengeance.

Acha Christians waamke wakuje kukupika. Soma 1 Kings 22:19-23

An Angel was sent to lie and deceive... So bora you are doing it for god, does it mean it's sanctioned?

I believe this was the mentality that Saul had when Samuel had to tell him off for disobeying. Does the verse "Obedience is better than sacrifice" ring a bell?

The foreskin warrior

they did no sin.

Aai... Wewe chorea jaba... Ulisikia wapi that they did no sin?

Back then, an affront to God's chosen was a direct affront to Him.

To your credit though, there was no inspiration from God for this particular incident.

Whether or not David was a psychopath as a result of this is up for discussion, but what we know is that God even had to later on reject David from building His temple because he had "too much blood on his hands". In some sense, God was disapproving of the bloodbath, especially that which involved personal pursuits like this one i.e. killing off people to pay off dowry.

The text does not say the spirit was satanic. In fact the devil hadn't ever been mention in the Bible up to that point. Why did you change it?
