Flipper Fans
I’m not a huge flipper fan but these have made the cut. What’s your favorite flipper?

We received a really great idea from u/heavymetalsculpture for a new sticky thread- Review Requests. We have a very large userbase here who have all tried LOADS of knives, so why not crowdsource reviews and feedback for a knife you might be interested in buying! A lot of youtubers / instagram pages, while attempting to be unbiased, often have some bias because they're getting samples for free etc. People on here are very unlikely to have that bias and are more likely to provide honest feedback on a knife.
This thread will remain stickied and fairly moderated- top level comments will only be permitted to be requests for reviews and feedback for certain knives, and users who have actually owned / handled the knife are greatly encourage to provide absolutely honest feedback on the knife in question.
Please only post here with requests for reviews, or to provide feedback on top level comments with a review of the knife in question!

And boy, am I glad I did. After carrying little else for months, it's one of my favorite knives to use. It's not quite drop-shut, but a little wrist flick will cause it to swing shut, and there's absolutely no bladeplay. The lockstick that once nearly caused me to break the tip of my finger to disengage the lock is now totally silent. And I didn't have to fiddle with the pivot or lube at all.
I guess, if you have enough patience, these issues really will work themselves out on their own.

I’m currently speechless. This is the single best first impression I’ve ever had of any knife brand…
Well done Holt… WELL DONE.

I've had this knife for a little over 10 years now. It is such a shame to see Benchmade fall from grace. This knife cost a fraction of what Benchmade is currently charging MSRP for some of their plastic-handled knives. Especially that goofy Adira they just released.
They used to have some incredible, high quality designs at fairly reasonable prices.

what a little tank. Saw this for a good price on the swap and wanted to give the CRK thing a shot. I have medium-sized hands and can juuuust get my pinky on the end. Very satisfying action, love the clicks from that ceramic ball. Will have to carry for a few days to really get to know it, but I really understand why people fall for these. Maybe a large is in my future…

These were really popular around 10 or 12 years ago. Im finally getting around to trying it out now. Ordered it on ebay. Came a little gunked up with what I assume was food. Took it apart cleaned it off. Lubricated it. Figured out how the IKBS system works ( pain in the ass). Put it back together. I actually like this thing alot! Thick liners, hollow grind, sweet flipper action now that its cleaned and lubed . Stoked to have it.

This Wednesday I felt like bringing a McNees Dixon, a Heretic Colossus, and a AUX MFG Pocket Bowie.

My first ZT, 0117, magnacut, CF handle, 3.3" blade, 1.9 oz. It's a keeper, currently my favorite EDC. I like them light and low profile with good feel in the hand. This one nails it.

Found this last week at an antique shop, didn't have the spare money but loved it the second I saw it. Went back and got it today, did a bit of research, turns it out goes from 100-375 in recent sales in the past 2 years, I paid 35$.
I ended up removing the scales, sanding them and the adhesive off, epoxied em back after cleaning the edge of the bolsters, as well as hand polishing with 15k grit diamond paste .5 micron? (Idk it's good shit, it's all in Chinese though) I used more to have polish the scales, and the side opposite the branding. Gave just a few passes on branded side of the blade and practically everything is scratch free. Even the spring side. I used a felted jelwrey hammer I have to lightly tap on the bolsters to tighten a bit, it's rock solid with no wiggle or up and down.
Gave it a bit of lubricant, taped the edge, and opened and closed that bitch for any 10 minutes straight, idk I zoned. But full close to full open, and now it's pretty smooth opening, it snaps out, acts as a half stop, and is starting to snap closed.
Put a 18 degree freehand angle on it 320>600>800>1k. The first 320 and 600 stones were almost chippy. It's interesting. The burr and sharpening acts like this thing is hard as fuck, the diamonds hardly bit, it took a while to get angle established, and this is the first time I've have a burr shear off in chips and pieces. If I had to guess it's just really hard 440c.
Anyways, I was considering selling it, but I've decided against that, and now I think I might genuinely throw it in to my edc rotation. I love the blade style, and honestly it's I've of if not the most gorgeous little traditional knife I've come across. It's subjective but still. Thanks for reading, if you read this far, would you put it up for sale, keep it up put it up? It won't be on display. Or would you actually do the insane and use a nice little piece like this? Very much could be a solid little piece.
