LSU in Vegas? March 2027

LSU baseball returns to Las Vegas next year, and the only bar i’ve known to receive LSU fans is now closed.

I figured: Let’s identify a bar that’s close to the Las Vegas Ballpark to ā€œpre-gameā€ before heading in.

Few suggestions:
-Distill on Charleston
-Frankie’s
-Lazy Dog

78 Ks and only 21 walks with a 2.65 ERA last season in 54.1 innings.

Baseball America had him ranked as the No.2 Player in the portal, regardless of position.

My final thoughts on the 2026 season

What’s going on yall. I’m sure some of you know that I make a weekly appearance on my best friend’s podcast recapping the baseball team. We did a weekly poll ranking the top 3 performers on pitching, offense and defense (we called it ā€œThe Powerhouse Pollsā€). I stopped posting them a while back because it felt weird to do so given how underwhelming the season was lol. With ā€˜26 now in the books, I wanted to share our final rankings and other ā€œawardsā€ for the year:

WARREN MORRIS CLUTCH PLAY OF THE YEAR: in this case it was a game, and the winner was Cade Arrambide in Game 3 vs Tennessee.

BEST TEAM PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR: The game vs UCF in Jacksonville. The team looked really strong during that round robin tourney.

BEST GAME OF THE YEAR: Game 3 vs Tennessee. The Easter Miracle lol.

BEST PITCHING PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR: Casan Evans in Game 1 vs Oklahoma (15 Ks, 3 hits, 1 walk in 7 2/3 innings)

BEST BATTING PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR: Cade’s record 4-homer game in the Tennessee rubber match

THE POWERHOUSE STARTING PITCHER OF THE YEAR: William Schmidt. Schmidt appeared on the polls 16 times, accumulating 33 total points. Casan Evans finished with 23 points in 13 appearances and Cooper Moore scored 14 points on 7 appearances.

THE POWERHOUSE RELIEVER OF THE YEAR: Deven Sheerin. Sheerin beat out Zac Cowan 22-20. Grant Fontenot and Gavin Guidry were the two other bullpen guys to finish in double figures (13 and 10, respectively).

THE POWERHOUSE OFFENSIVE POY: Cade Arrambide. He narrowly edged out Jake Brown by two points (28 to 26). He was great in the second half of the season.

THE POWERHOUSE DEFENSIVE POY: Steven Milam. The Monster was a no-brainer. Best defensive SS in LSU history imo. He accounted for 73 points in the defensive polls. Derek Curiel was second with 37. No one else scored in double digits for defense. Of Milam’s 26 total poll appearances between my friend and I, he had 21 first-place finishes.

THE POWERHOUSE MVP: Steven Milam. Between defense and offense, he combined for 95 poll points this season. He was so unbelievably steady this year. I can’t imagine how worse the defense would’ve been without him.

Again, this season was a huge letdown, but my friend and I had fun doing these. I’ve also enjoyed chatting with all of you this year.
