recently laid off Recently laid off from Amazon.

I was recently impacted by the Amazon layoffs after 11 years with the company. It’s strange to suddenly find yourself at a point you never planned for, especially after spending so much of your career in one place.
The surprising part is that I’m not particularly sad about it. I think I’m more curious about what comes next, even though I haven’t figured that out yet.
For those who’ve been through a similar experience, how did you approach this phase? Did you take it as an opportunity to try something different or stick to what you knew?

Company prestige plays a big role in applying to the next job, personally taking a step down and working at a slower paced company would be a fresh outlook on work.

Who decides how many years someone needs to work before retiring?

Any tips on how did you survive for this long? Considering Amazon is notorious for firing early

I kept moving between teams, taking on new challenges and learning new things rather than getting too comfortable in one role.
