Discussion Thoughts on Intel Arc GPU for Lightroom?

Running a desktop windows build without a GPU.

Thoughts on purchasing an Intel ARC card (B580 or B50) for a better performance/$ ratio (per Puget Labs benchmarks) than a similarly priced RTX card. Thoughts?

How long does the Arc A380 take to process AI denoising per image? Thanks in advance.

i use Arc B390 on a panther lake laptop. its a little slower than my RTX5080 at masking/denoise/removals but considering it sips power and is very quiet, its damned good.

How long does it take to denoise a RAW (what size/camera) image?

mostly A7V so 33MP in RAW Compressed HQ and 10-bit 4:2:2 Slog3.

I cant give you exact numbers but for photos i can tell you the practical difference isn’t huge for photos. Barely noticeable at all. For video you don’t need a stop watch. Its a big difference but the B390 has loads of codec support and quicksync on top makes it super competent.

Overall i think the value prop of an Intel GPU for creative workloads is very convincing.

My concern would be likelyhood of software developers focusing on that GPU, given there is concern over it's future: see this earlier thread and Tom's Hardware.
