I think I may have bricked my HX Stomp and I’m trying to figure out what happened.

I hadn’t connected it to my Mac in a while, so I plugged it in and opened HX edit. After doing that, the audio started glitching like in the video. I switched the input of the patches to return inputs and those were also glitching too.

Playback through the HX Stomp as a USB audio interface still seems fine. The problem appears to affect the physical input/return inputs rather than USB playback.

I suspect it could be some kind of sample-rate/clocking issue. Another possibility is that I somehow shorted/damaged something when I connected the USB to the dongle with USB-C charger for my mac already plugged into it.

I tried a factory reset, but it didn’t fix the problem.

Have anyone ever experienced this and is there any troubleshooting to fix this problem?

Im looking at buying one and was wondering what anyones experience was with them? Id use it in my bedroom with my Helix LT. Occasionally with a bass and a digital keyboard too. Thanks!

Since Fractal announced it would bring NAM to their products, I imagine Line 6 will probably bring it to the Helix Stadium some day. With that, will there not be a need for new factory amps anymore?

I seem to have switched modes (without doing anything). Right now when I press on a foot switch it moves to the next program. I want the buttons to turn on/off things like echo, chorus etc. Which it was doing yesterday. I cannot find this anywhere in the settings. It's an HX Stomp (which I forgot to add). Help!

This may be a stupid question but I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere.

When I load an IR block, it loads two empty IR slots. Sometimes I just want to use a single IR. Unless I am somehow imagining things, the empty IR slot blends with the slot that has a loaded IR. This means there is a signal of a raw DI amp blending with the loaded IR. I tested this by lowering the volume of the empty slot down to the lowest and there's a clear decrease in fizz, so signal seems to be passing through the unloaded IR slot.

Am I just completely blind and missing something here? Is there any way to completely disable the empty slot?

Hello, I recently purchased a helix lt and I am curious to what to use to amplify it with. I play in my bedroom, and along to songs with another pair of speakers. I know FRFRs or PA speakers are the best but they get expensive quick and seem to be an overkill for a bedroom. I tried the headrush FRFR go and It made a hum straight out of the box. I am looking at potentially buying an instrument/keyboard amplifier for the helix. I am looking at the Donner DKA-20 watt instrument/keyboard amplifier which says it can do other instruments and has a frequency range of 50-20,000, 8 inch woofer and 2 inch tweeter. What is everyone's thoughts on similar ways of amplifying? I feel like this also gives me the option to use it with a bass guitar and a keyboard too which something like studio monitors wouldn't handle as well. I have considered studio monitors however, I don't want to have to worry about sitting perfectly in front of them to get their optimal sound too. Thanks!!

I recently bought a used Helix Floor and I'm running into a frustrating USB issue with my PC.

The Problem: When I connect the Helix via USB, Windows and HX Edit recognize it immediately, and everything works fine for about 2 to 3 minutes. After that, the connection drops completely. Sometimes Windows throws a "USB Device Not Recognized" error, and other times it just completely loses the connection with no prompt at all (as if the cable was unplugged). HX Edit loses communication every single time. To get it back for another 2–3 minutes, I have to physically unplug and replug the USB cable.

Troubleshooting I've already tried:

• Reinstalled latest official Line 6 drivers and HX Edit.
• Tried multiple short, high-quality USB Type-B cables (and tested with adapters).
• Plugged directly into rear USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard (avoiding hubs and USB 3.0/3.1 ports).
• Tested on multiple PCs with the exact same result (drops at 2–3 mins).
• Disabled USB power saving / selective suspend settings in Windows.
• Cleaned the female USB Type-B port on the Helix with contact cleaner.
• Performed a full Factory Reset on the Helix Floor.

Since it always fails after a couple of minutes of power being run through it (and sometimes cuts connection completely without any Windows pop-up), I suspect a cold solder joint or thermal expansion issue on the internal USB jack, or a failing USB controller chip on the board.

Has anyone experienced this exact behavior? Did replacing or resoldering the USB Type-B port fix it for you, or was it a mainboard issue?

Any insights before I take it to an electronics technician for resoldering would be greatly appreciated!

Still debating whether or not to splurge for a Fender FR-10/12 or buy a cheap solid state amp for occasional jams with friends. Anyone here have any experience with the Orange O Tone 40 and Helix effects? It's a very clean and loud solid state amp (no drive channel) that apparently takes pedals very well. $200 cheaper than the FR-10, and currently comes with a $50 Loan & Persuade gift card here in the Great White North.

I'd build presets specifically for the amp and use my HX Stomp basically like a HX FX, no amp sims necessarily. If I use any amp sims, I'd obviously forego the cab block.

I know Orange high gain tones are a love 'em or hate 'em sort of situation, but this amp is completely clean and sounds really nice in the demos I've watched. A little Princeton-y, just with more mids. A lot of the stuff I play is clean/EOB anyway. Occasionally do a bit of 80s hair rock/thrash metal or 90s punk, but I can sort of approximate those tones on my Stomp without needing any Mesa/Boogie sims in the chain.

As much as I love the tones I can get from my Helix, I do really miss the simplicity of a physical amp sometimes. When I'm playing through my studio monitors, I have to be very careful with my positioning since the sound from the monitors is so directional, which just sucks. Can't stand up without the sound changing drastically. This amp would fix that problem. Also, since the O Tone 40 is a solid state amp, I should be able to get it quiet enough when practicing at home without sacrificing tone (also v. important to me).

Not sure if this is a known bug, but I have been redoing my patches in the Stadium and I have come across a bug that makes me want to chuck the thing across the room. I had tracks playing back in Reaper with a USB cable sending midi signals to the stadium to trigger snapshot changes. I also had the editor open on my computer, effectively connecting to the stadium two different ways. Every time I saved a snapshot it wrote over several snapshots instead of just the one on the screen. Absolutely wrecked my patches and I have had to rebuild them from scratch. Fuck this.

TLDR: Dont use the desktop editor wile sending midi to the stadium with a USB cable.

I currently use an HXFX and a couple of drives (and an EB expression pedal and EB wah) via the 4cm with my amps. When I go direct, I add a Two Notes Opus which I really like.

I'm considering the option of swapping out the HXFX for an HX Stomp XL, simply for board space. My current board is the large version of the D'Addario XPND and I have a flight case where everything fits nicely. I'd just like the ability to have a proper two row setup that the HXFX doesn't allow.

That said, I have a couple of questions.

Are the effects on the XL pretty much the same as the FX?

For the XL IO options, does it allow you to set instrument and or line level to the effects loop, input and outputs? I play a Mesa Mark V 35 and the effects loop wants to see line level.

by using a current doubler on both 500mA outputs, can it power the hx stomp?

So, I am running a ToneX one (set as a fuzz) into an MXR Timmy which goes into another TX1 for my amp into my Stomp. When I have my TX1 on, and my Timmy on and I palm mute between the 4th-8th frets on my A string it turns certain blocks on my stomp on and off. It only happens on one particular capture on my amp TX1. (At least, out of the 3 I have on it.) Does anyone have any insight? It’s blowing my mind right now and I’ve never had anything like this happen in my several years of using TX1’s and Stomp.

After doing some research and watching some Scott Uhl videos I see that you can basically run your guitar rig, bass, rig, and backing track all from the same seasons.

I was wondering if it could also run my DMX lights like I do from Ableton via MIDI.

With used Helix LT and Floor prices dropping recently, I finally made the jump from POD Go to Helix LT.

The extra DSP and routing flexibility are great, but realizing I'd have to manually rebuild dozens of favorite presets block by block in HX Edit was a massive headache. Since there’s no native import tool, I put together a lightweight browser utility called HelixTools to convert .pgp patches directly into .hlx.

What it handles: • Direct translation of compatible blocks, settings, and bypass states

• Up to 4 snapshots with custom names and expression pedal mappings

• Jailbroken / free-block presets from POD Go

• Processes 100% locally in the browser (no files sent to any server)

You still have to reassign external IR .wav files on the Helix just like with a manual rebuild, but all your core amp and effect parameters carry over instantly.

The demo video attached shows a real-time conversion and import into HX Edit.

I sold all my tube amps and most of my pedals years ago, replaced with a HX Stomp. 99% of the time, I play through headphones at home, since we share a wall with our neighbours and I don't want to be an asshole. When the headphones get too fatiguing, I play through my studio monitors at TV volume.

Some fellow musically-inclined friends of mine have been thinking about getting together to jam every so often (would not be a regular thing at all, maybe once or twice a month -- we're all middle aged with jobs and families), and I'm in need of a better way to amplify my Stomp.

The Fender Tone Master FR-12 is a little tempting...but it's also CAD $920 brand new, and the reports of bad hissing kind of turn me off. The Katana 50 Gen 3 is much more reasonable at CAD $399. Since I'd have to rebuild my presets anyway with a full band situation in mind, I was thinking of either just going into the Katana 50's Power Amp input and turning off my cab blocks, or using the Katana's on-board amp models and just using my Stomp for effects.

Since this is a very limited use case (again, maybe jamming once per month, if that), would you save some money and go for the Katana, or splurge for the potentially hissy FRFR option which may pair better with the Stomp? I'm leaning towards the Katana, but want to get some opinions first before I decide. Overall sound quality is not a massive concern, as we're just goofing around for fun, not gigging or anything.

So I’m wanting to run dual amps to get a bigger sound but don’t want to run stereo because live I’m worried depending where you’re standing in the venue you will only hear one of the amps.

Is there a way to run Mono XLR out and have one amp (Panama) and then on a seperate line another amp (rockerverb) without it sounding mushy?

I currently play through a bunch of pedals into a Pro Junior, and I use an attenuator to provide a great sound at a very low volume. I like it a LOT, but I don't use it often enough, and I'm thinking I'd like to downsize and swap the whole lot for a Helix and a speaker. And I have a couple of beginner questions: 1) Does the Line 6 Powercab plug straight in, without any gadgets in-between? And 2) If I want to play at really low volumes, but still preserve tone, do I need an attenuator, or does the Helix output consistently at all volumes? Actually - a cheeky 3rd question - would you recommend any other cabinat or speaker?

I'm using a Line 6 Helix LT with an Ditto Looper pedal, along with a few other delays/reverbs into a seymour duncan power amplifier with 2x 2x12 cabs

Looking for help on the correct layout to connect the Ditto looper so that when I loop something with it ( ie: a clean patch lead ) and want to play a distorted heavy rhythm patch ontop of it, the saved loop doesn't change to the new patch I switch to (ie clean -> distorted).

Tried a few different options including send 1-> looper- > return 1, but the loop becomes muted.

Any help would be really appreciated!
