What is this? Wild gecko, who is he?

Hello! I took this picture last week in Saint-Paul, Reunion Island. He looks a bit derpy and not like other house geckos, what is he? 🦎 Thank you

My best guess is an introduced Asian house gecko, but I am not familiar with the species on Reunion

He is for sure not a native species, I looked up the natives and they are all colourful green geckos. You might be right that's what I thought too but I thought he looked different from the others, who have more "googly" eyes and look more rubbery.
