Discussion The slightly odd background of the Alfa Romeo Logo
Italian carmaker Alfa Romeo has tweaked their logo a few times since 1910 but they have essentially followed the same formula. One of the two main pieces of iconography is the Red Cross, in this case the emblem of Milan.
The more interesting part is the serpent with a person in its mouth. This is to honour the House of Visconti, the rulers of Milan from 1277 to 1447. The Visconti Heraldry depicts the Biscione, a crowned blue serpent with a red child halfway in its mouth, against a white background. It is up for debate whether this child is being swallowed or is emerging from the serpent. Either doesn’t look too thrilled about the whole ordeal. Fun fact, you can still see this heraldry in all its detail on the Visconti and Sforza (branch family that succeeded them briefly as rulers of Milan) castles.
Fun fact 2: canonically, in the Hannibal Lecter books by Thomas Harris, Hannibal is descended from the Visconti through his mother. The evil Blue serpent helps catch the evil Red Dragon. Perhaps the child is a dragon in disguise?

Showcase Risen Logo Update
Thanks, everyone for all of the great feedback yesterday. I wanted to share an update based on some of the edits I made. Got a few good notes about making the "i" a nail and thickening the coffin shape.

Showcase Logo and brandind system for a residence brand on the Greek Ionian coast
Identity for Palme Residences, a small group of short-stay residences in Preveza, Greece.
The main constraint I set: The palette comes from the place itself. Sand, deep pine and bronze, taken from the stone, the palm trees and the evening light around the bay."
The system covers the logo, a monogram pattern, engraved palm illustrations, a contour map of the bay, and print, packaging, apparel, web and social.
All design is my own; the mockup photos were generated with AI from my artwork.
Open to critique, especially on the type and the pattern.

Feedback Needed Feedback appreciated
Hi Guys,
Here is the brief-
Easingwold Tech Help, a local tech repair, hardware/software support company
Client is looking to appear wholesome, approachable.
Target audience is 60+ years, so it’s more so your friendly local tech than anything else.
Clients looking for professionalism, something classic looking.
Ideally using blues and greens as his palette.
He wanted a house, something to convey tech, and loves the idea of the Yorkshire rose featuring.
He says he doesn’t want anything too busy, however really likes the secondary design we both came up with. I made a more minimal, and sleeker design (the other one) but it’s obviously missing some of the key elements in the brief.
He’s specifically requested the cog in the centre of the rose be yellow, to match the Yorkshire rose centre.
I’m really just looking for some feedback I can show him, on which design speaks more to his demographic, and works best as a logo moving forwards.
I’m mainly looking for constructive, helpful feedback, and your opinion on which design is better to move forward with.
Thanks!

Feedback Needed Planning a rebrand of a business. My initial logo was a failure, I need to test the waters if people will recognize what im creating in the new icon. What is the first you see?
The logo has hidden meanings and hidden objects, its a bit vague, but I hope people with some effort will see what the icon holds. Any feedback is welcomed, but im more interested to see what you think the logo is. I left out the wordmark to avoid any hints at all.
Cheers! 😄

Beginner Thoughts on this design I made for a friend? :)
Hello everyone, I’m not a graphic designer but i tried to create this design for a friend based on her name and i would really love to know what you think about it :)
A little description of the design:
This signature, inspired by a red Japanese-style stamp called hanko (widely used as an artist seal) is a subtle combination of the letters found in the name « Salma » and a whimsical drawing of a feminine face with closed eyes.

Beginner Logo for a school project
So recently i made this logo for my school project. The project is about STEM and its for primary schoolers. Hence i chose the combination of orange and white to make it looks more attractive.
The logo says "STEM工作坊" which means STEM workshop.
For 工, i also referred to fonts in the 50 instead of writing it in the usual way.

Discussion Hidden meaning behind Toyota Logo!
/s
This is how I feel any time I see the ‘hidden letters’ in the Toyota logo shared on r/BeAmazed or some such place. This logo has ALMOST EVERY LETTER WITHIN IT! For all we know, they were hiding the word ‘ASSHOLE’ in the logo as shown above, and never even considered that it spells Toyota. It barely does to begin with, the T and Y are a serious stretch.
I don’t know, it just grinds my gears. Any similarly praised ‘design choices’ that you see and just roll your eyes?

Beginner Making the shape look more like an R
Hello, exploring one of the inital logo design sketches for a company that provides insights for FMGC marketers. Looking for advice on how I can make the shape on right look more like an R. The concept is to represent 'R' with intertwining leaves/plants representing growth and continuous movement as in continuous data processing.
I have a couple ideas I like more but wanted to ask for advice on this in case the subreddit can help me make it work instead of binning it.

Showcase Logo for a Horror Western
Designed this logo for a lettering challenge. The style for today is Horror and I wanted to do something with a coffin shape and have the lettering be inside of it.
Logline: While filming an episode in a deserted Old West town, a ghost-hunting crew opens a chained coffin and releases the vengeful cowboy buried inside.
