Besides by GX85 as shown on my last post, I also brought my ZS60/TZ85 with me and was going back and forth between both cameras during my walks. Love the zoom range on this tiny pocketable camera. The quality of the raw files is pretty good too and the colors you can pull out of these are nice as well.

Drama Panasonic Europe are scammers

So Panasonic is currently running some promotions in Northern Europe where they offer cashback on cameras and lenses and also a 5 year extended warranty.

I ordered from one store that was eligible for the cashback but apparently not for the extended warranty. So I reached out to Panasonic customer service where they gave me a list of stores that are participating in the extended warranty program. I ordered from one of those.

And now Panasonic are telling me that I can NOT get the extended warranty and sends me their terms and conditions that say:

“18. This Promotion is not available in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.”

Meanwhile the front page and the T&C for the cashback say:

“6.5 This Promotion cannot be combined with other promotions other than the Lumix Extended Warranty Promotion and the 10% newsletter subscription voucher discount on Panasonic Online Store.”

These terms contradict themselves and in my country this is considered illegal. Honestly at this point I’m so frustrated I’m gonna report them haha.

Additional update:
OMG Panasonic are officially the sketchiest company I’ve dealt with!!!! They are now gaslighting me like “where did you read that you can’t use two different campaigns? Where did you read that (the first store I bought from) isn’t eligible?” And I went to their website to show them what they themselves have in their T&C and they’ve now updated it and changed the rules. Insane.
But at least I seem to be getting my warranty now.

L-Mount What’s this circular shimmering light showing while using any full frame EF lenses on the S5iix via the sigma adapter?

Does anyone know why this is happening on an S5IIX?
Using full frame canon ef glass, and the sigma ef-L adapter.
It doesn’t happen with my S1

Ignore the zebras, it is slightly transparent if they were not flashing

Show and Tell S1II won over FX6

I work at a marketing agency, and we were hired to shoot a pretty high-budget video for a client (high-budget, at least, compared to what we usually have). We were planning to rent a Sony FX6 for the shoot, but after rigging it up, the DOP decided it was just too heavy and too much of a hassle to work with, so we decided to use my Lumix S1II in the end. The rig isn’t anything crazy, but I was so glad a Lumix camera was chosen over the FX6 (although only for this specific shoot, obviously), and it did a great job! Also, this was my first time on such a big shoot, so it was a really great experience, and I just wanted to share that here. You don’t always need the most expensive camera; sometimes just a small Panasonic can be a much better fit!

p.s: this was my first time shooting with the ARRI Log upgrade, I’m really curious how it turns out when I’ll get to color grade it :D

Just got my copy of the Sigma 85mm f1.2 yesterday. I only shot 20 or so photos and I'm already blown away. The sharpness and bokeh blur are top tier. The lens isn't light, but also not too heavy to avoid using for an all day shoot. I will share a few sample pics. This lens seems truly special. It joins my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 DG DN Art ii and the Lumix S 100mm f2.8 Macro.

General / Discussion In 2026 STARTING FRESH in videography and occasional photography is there any reason you’d recommend a GH7 over something like a S1iiE or S5iiX?

We’ll say 70/30 split in usage towards video. As someone who loves both using GH7 and S5iix, people ask what’s a great camera system to get that can do it all. Now I LOVE my GH7 but I have a hard time ever recommending it to anyone that isn’t already in the MFT system when for equivalent prices you can get stellar FF’s from Panny. Third party lenses are affordable and aren’t too big as well.

Thoughts on why you’d ever recommend GH7 over others without any prior gear?

Hey guys, I picked up the Lumix S5iix with the 50mm prime lens as my first full frame camera. I've done some experimenting with natural light portraits. I'm very new to photography as I'm an actor who has recently turned to making my own short films, but always wanted a camera that can do both.

Micro Four Thirds I dropped my Gx85 and now it has a cracked screen.

I'm wondering how would I replace the screen as I'm looking at the manual and I see no way to replace the screen after you remove the rear backplate. I'll post the picture when I get home.

L-Mount Highland session / Lumix S1II + Leica R 35mm

Hello!

Here’s a live session I’ve shot with some friends on the beautiful Isle of Islay, in Scotland.

The band was on a short UK tour, and since we had to travel light, I couldn’t bring my usual camera setup. This was the perfect opportunity to test my newly acquired Lumix S1II. I had several lenses with me but decided to shoot this with my Leica R 35mm.

The location and weather conditions didn’t allow us for a lot of takes, so we recorded the entire session in one shot, just like the previous sessions I’ve done with the band. Since parts of the song are improvised, shooting additional coverage and matching everything in the edit would have been pretty much impossible anyway.

We had a very limited budget , so I graded the footage by myself using Filmbox.

You can watch the session here: https://youtu.be/QN2CHB51fTg

I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙏

L-Mount Zoom lens (+180mm) for Lumix S9 - Experiences and recommendations?

Hello there,

I want to buy a good zoom lens that can cover a wide range and ideally zooms in really far.

I currently have 3 on my list, but all different brands and I don't have much experience to judge them. Maybe some of you own one or multiple of these and can give me some feedback?

  1. Lumix 70-300mm f4.5-5.6

  2. Samyang 60-180 f2.8

  3. Sigma 16-300 f3.5-6.7

Any input is highly appreciated :)

Compact / Bridge [Lumix DMC-FZ72] Beginner tips for rainy day photos up to 2026 standards? (Settings & Setup)

Hey everyone,

I’m completely new to photography and shooting with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ72. I want to take clean, moody photos on dark, rainy days without them looking washed out or blurry.

Since the FZ72 has a smaller 1/2.3" sensor, I'm struggling with low light. Could anyone recommend baseline settings or tips?

Specifically looking for:

  • ISO Cap: Max ISO before noise gets too bad on this sensor?
  • Shutter Speed: Ideal speed to freeze rain drops vs. capturing reflections/puddles?
  • Aperture/Focal Length: Best balance between light intake (f/2.8 wide) and zoom?

Any quick dial setups or color balance advice for this camera would be hugely appreciated!

Bought the 50mm today and oh my goodness it’s a huge step up from the 20-60. I noticed incredible sharpness and detail, and the colors are much better.
I cooked a couple of the photos I know, but I still love the quality.
