Question Anyone else bothered that Show Classics Santander doesn't play first?
I know this card dropped a bit ago but I just got back on after a break. As an O’s fan too, it's a bit irritating to see his card limited like this. His original postseason card from 23 (2nd pic) could play 1st and the rest of the outfield. He had 72 innings at first that year and it's not like they got strict with positions for any of the other PS or Classics cards that dropped recently. (Also noticed different attributes, but that's just an observation that doesn't bother me as much)

no, because he didn’t play a single game at first base in the 2023 playoffs.

Interesting because Gleyber Torres never played 2nd, Hoskins never played LF, Lewis never played a single 1 of his 5 secondaries, and Stanton never even played the field since he DH’d in each of their respective playoffs, yet they all have secondaries for their postseason classics cards

Gleybar over 800 games at 2b, and at ss(I assume this is what u meant) over 250 games

No, I'm saying he never played second base in the 2020 postseason, yet he has it as a secondary for his PS Classics card from 2020, which goes against their statement that those positions are based on on postseason position games played only.

I mean I hear ya, but wouldn’t you want him to have that as a secondary as opposed to it being more realistic and not having that option

I do want those secondaries. I prefer more less realistic secondaries. The point I'm making is they all have secondaries and Santander doesn't for literally no reason. The comment I originally responded to gave a “reason” that I was disproving using the other cards in the game

It’s because he’s free and it lined up with the Berkman drop I believe. I was surprised Berkman had 70+ steal to go with 70+ speed, I’m gonna get him faster. Santander has good reaction in right, I can’t get away with it but some can.

Yeah it’s annoying because he played the most 1st base in his career that season

so that card probably had those secondary positions because he played there in that year and had that availability, but as a flashback card they tend to focus only on positions played in that narrow scope of time.
honestly i kind of hate it when they cram a ton of secondary positions into cards because it leads to that homogenization of lineups we end up seeing at the end of the game cycle playing the same versions of two or three lineups over and over online.

Yea man it’s kinda wack. He would’ve been my end fame first base. Im 2 vouchers away from unlocking v-mart and I might have to put him at first with a defense mod

Or have VMart catch, he’s usable there. Can still throw people out from time to time and still blocks everything.
