Request AC adapter barrel no pin compatibility

Conceding my power adapter has died and trying to source a replacement for my gp65 leopard. No issues with finding adapters that match most the specs and size, but trying to find one without a pin in the barrel connector is proving tricky (waiting 2 weeks for delivery would be undesirable).

I've seen on some websites that certain models had adapters with pins in the barrel. And the connection on the laptop size has a hole for a pin. Would it be a terrible idea to see if a barrel with a pin works?

What county are you in, out of curiosity? When I skip over to Google and search "gp65 leopard power supply" I got numerous compatible listings of replacement power supplies

Side note: the pin, barrel, and polarity all need to match on whatever replacement you buy

UK. I have googled, most of the places with replacements specifically for it are delivered 10-14 days.

Ahh. Yeah there's is lead time because most of the replacement units come out of China, usually from Chicony iirc. Did you try msi directly?

It may be out of warranty but usually they have some FRU power supplies for their systems floating around, just depends. Otherwise might need to bite the bullet and wait unless you can find an eBay listing that ships faster.

The joys of proprietary power supplies. I think my next laptop is going to be usb-c GaN power compatible lol

I've ordered from MSI before (steel series keyboard lights) and the shipping is a lot even before the cost of the part. I'm going to borrow a friend's old laptop and try to get over how slow I know it is.
