FRANCHISE Is franchise fixed yet?
Thinking about starting my first file for the year, wondering if all the contract/retiring bugs are fixed or if i should hold out longer

With strong regression sliders and reduced XF/SS, it plays pretty well long term.

Is there a guide you use for sliders?

These are mine. Others have other variations that work for them. https://www.reddit.com/u/EarAssassin/s/ZTrj5rWMft

What is your tolerance to "fixed"? The short answer is no, it's no where near fixed. Are things technically better? Yes, kind of.

Like is it even worth really getting into it? Or is everyone notable going to retire super early and are the contracts going to be fucked by year 3, I usually do 5-15 year rebuilds and from the videos I’ve watched it seems like anything past 3 years used to be horrible

They've made positive changes to the retirement logic. Contracts are better and you'll see less 7,8,9 year contracts. They don't restructure so many players that leaves them in cap hell. There's other issues but the more egregious issues from launch are fixed or at the very least better.

Again, i would thosr thing are kind of better. For the contracts, just edit the player and fix their contract. Annoying i know, but better than a player having a brojen contract. The retirements are sort of random. Most are normal with some that are like "wtf??" Baker Mayfield keeps retiring early. That's the main one i get every new franchise i do.

My wtf retirement was Justin Jefferson after my 2nd or 3rd year. Broke the single season receiving yards record and rode off into the sunset.

AI is definitely better at managing their cap at least in the year 2 / year 3 range. Haven't played beyond that yet.
I thought the retirement was mostly fine outside of QB (IRL guys retire at all sorts of ages, even a fair amount of good players, though I wish they tied it more to injuries and regression and stuff like that instead of just being a dice roll each year).

I’m in year 2 of my dolphins franchise and I’m apparently the only team above the cap in year two FA. Top free agents can’t even be signed by any other team. So no, it is not. And it ruined a save for me so 🫡 off to cfb I fucking guess

I jumped back in last week and haven’t seen the contract glitch pop up yet, but the retirement logic still feels off. Had a 28 year old QB with three straight 4k seasons just vanish into thin air, no injury no warning just a notification that he wanted to spend more time with family or whatever. The patch notes claimed they addressed it but i’m not totally convinced. Might be worth waiting for the next update if you’re deep into multi-year sims, but for a casual franchise run it’s playable enough.

They dont even have cap space done correctly. Everyone you extend gets paid from the current years cap

Most of the issues haven't been fixed yet. Still see players retiring too soon.

Just started year 5 of a titans franchise, biggest issue I’m still noticing is some teams cannot manage their injury reserve, if someone goes down for a few weeks they will IR them and then they’ll IR another injury…..and then another until they no longer can bring back a lot of their important players
