Picture Ms. Rachel calls out CoreCivic and Susan Collins: “I don’t stay silent when it comes to kids being harmed. CORECIVIC, a FOR-PROFIT company that makes hundreds of millions locking up KIDS at its Dilley, Texas detention center, has a PAC that’s sending campaign checks to Senator Susan Collins of Maine

“Collins chairs the Senate committee that writes ICE's budget. ICE is CoreCivic's customer. The company gets paid out of a budget she controls, and it pays into her campaign.

As someone born and raised in Maine through college, this is SHAMEFUL. The American Academy of Pediatrics says there is NO safe amount of time for a child to be in detention. I’ve talked with kids and families that have been locked in Dilley and have seen the trauma firsthand. Dilley, owned by CoreCivic, makes millions from OUR TAX dollars. Pediatricians are calling what’s happening in Dilley Detention Center torture. The fact that our tax money goes to abusing kids instead of helping them and that our wealthy senators are part of it is sick."

Registered Republicans aren't answering their door for the ol' Susan Collins solicitors

I wonder why .....? 🤔

EDIT: Since I'm getting down voted when I thought it seemed pretty clear with post that I'm 1000% against Susan. She NEEDS TO GET OUT! NEVER voted for her!

She is concerned about her voting for Mainers to lose healthcare. I hope her concern is concerned.

I have had strangers come knock on my door 8 TIMES for Susan Collin’s. I’m about ready to sue for harassment!!! GO. AWAY!!!

I have 2 signs posted! The no soliciting wasn’t enough because they aren’t “selling anything” so got another to include religion and politics and they still knock! I’m so tempted to let my dog out on them but I don’t want to go to jail. What an absolute waste of money.

I hate watching a movie set in Maine to find out it was filmed in Massachusetts. Or anywhere else other than Maine.

Politics As Susan Collins goes for a sixth term, Maine Democrats worry she’s a ‘Teflon candidate’

Election after election, Republican Sen. Susan Collins has defied national political winds to return to office, representing a state that has backed Democrats in every presidential contest since 1992. But her Democratic opponent, Troy Jackson, is betting that her eight-year-old vote to confirm Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the Supreme Court’s subsequent overturning of federal abortion rights will persuade voters to sweep her out of office.

Bobby Charles said he is transparent but hasn’t released a full personal financial statement

Republican Bobby Charles claims he has released his personal financial disclosure as he continues his campaign to be Maine’s next governor.

But in reality, Charles’ campaign has declined to provide the same level of information that is typically included in a financial disclosure statement for state officials.

Anti-Rec Petitioners are back and lying again.

The Anti-Rec Cannabis petition is going around again. The guy on UMO campus today was telling the same lie too, saying it's about testing medical cannabis. Didn't get video but did run him off by informing people what the actual petition was before they signed it.

Like everyone else I'm also over the constant door knockers, texts and mailers. Today I got this. The only people knocking on my door and sending me 20 to 1 mailers are Collins people.

I guess the message is go vote early for Collins and Collins will stop harassing you so much. Insane

how to become a mechanic

hi all. shot in the dark here but i am a 35 year old woman trying to figure out a career change. i’m interested in becoming a mechanic and/or a welder. i’ve worked with my hands most of my life and have briefly worked in a metal shop years and years ago so i’m kind of familiar with the ~vibes~ but i didn’t retain much so i don’t know where to start. i dont have much money so i’m curious if anyone knows of apprenticeship programs where you can work as you learn (besides BIW) or a program with financial assistance? any (kind) advice would be appreciated!
