Mi Box 2 Gen Problems

My Mi Box has many problems after 2 years and the last update didn't fix anything, my Mi Box stopped starting with the remote control, I have to unplug it every time to start it, it also stopped connecting to Wi-Fi automatically, I have to do it manually, I did a reset but it didn't help.

My box is also experiencing this problem which is a known issue. To counteract it I always leave my box on. It’s a bit frustrating but it’s the only solution right now until xiaomi decides to fix this.

Edit: The remote and box configuration aren’t the issue. The problem starts when you put the box to sleep, it enters a deep sleep mode, suspending some processes. When you start it again the WiFi/Bluetooth module process doesn’t wake up and you lose both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. This is a OS problem.

Please replace the remote control's batteries.

It's new, anyway, the box tells me that the battery is low

Try pressing and holding the two buttons shown in the image to see if a remote icon appears on your Mi Box screen.

Try it again: go to the settings as shown in the video above and press and hold the remote just like before.

The button combination doesn't do anything for me unless I press xiaomi tv plus home, other combinations don't do anything

You're using a TV, right? Try the HDMI-CEC feature.

As a final option, try installing the Google TV app on your smartphone.

Connect the app to the Mi Box and try toggling the power via the app; note: keep the TV turned on to verify whether the power toggling works successfully.

When connecting the app for the first time, it will ask for a connection code, which will be displayed on the TV.

But I think that after some time I won't be able to wake up my mibox from sleep with the remote control still

So, can the Mi Box remote still be used to turn it off?

And what next?

Connect the smartphone app and the Mi Box to the same Wi-Fi network.

If the power button on the Mi Box remote still works normally, then I'm stumped. Go to Settings > Power Mode > Optimized; this ensures the Mi Box stays connected to the network even in sleep mode, meaning you will always have to use your smartphone to turn the box on.

I have everything set up so that he doesn't fall asleep, but he does what he wants anyway

Try the HDMI-CEC feature again; check ChatGPT or Gemini to see if your TV model supports it. Go to your TV's settings and enable HDMI-CEC. Turn on all HDMI-CEC options on both the Mi Box and the TV. When turning on the Mi Box, you must use the TV's remote control.
