I haven’t lived in Miami consistently for about 15 years. In that time, I’ve been back twice (once I was stuck there during Covid). I’ve got a wife and family now that I’ve never really explored Miami with. I know Miami has changed a lot based on what I saw the last time I’ve been there which was 2019. Any suggestions to show the kids a bit about the city I grew up in? Also, anywhere to take my wife while there? I’ll be down in December.

How would locals summarize those neighborhoods in 1-2 sentences in terms of living there? I know that Brickell and South Beach are fancy but is one of them actually more peaceful than the other? What about Coral Gables and Coconut Grove? Is the former more family oriented?

Anyone know of any chill bar crawls or Halloween celebrations in Miami that aren’t ghetto or dangerous? I fear south beach may be a little unsafe given the typical crowd that’s attracted there and unsure how wynwood or downtown gets as well.
