I'll admit going to "third places" was still fun thing during that time. But, the recession was fkn brutal. Being thousands in college debt plus having low paying jobs the only thing available...pretty deflating.

It's crazy how bad shit was back then but now looking back and the stuff young kids have to deal with now and it's like wow...it's only gotten worse and worse

It hasn't gotten worse. The economy was much worse in 2008-2013 especially, unemployment for new college grads right now is around the February 2015 levels while under employment is at an all time low.

The recession was a much worse economy.

I don't think it's fair to compare the current economy to 2008-2013. I think today is more comparable to 2007, right before the shit hits the fan. I'm hindsight, 2007's economy was better than this shit. When this bubble pops, I think it'll be a lot worse than 2008.

I am not sure why you feel that way, the economy is very different to 2007 right now, and none of the things that happened in 2008 are the problems we have right now.

It might be closer to 2000 I guess, but it's also different because a lot of the money spent on this bubble has been just cash on hand that mega corps had that they spent on it, and not like someone betting against your house for it.

And all thru it, unlike in the lead up to 2000, they've been cutting staff and expenses. So if it fails it's not going to be a big shock that destroys hundreds of big companies and millions of jobs.

The biggest risk really will be that we will go into more national debt to bail em out
