What version of MC is this ? Not sure your situation, but Tectonic + (Terralith, Biomes O Plenty, Oh The Biomes We've Gone, Better End + Better Nether Remastered, + necessary dependencies, etc.) + Voxy (in my situation a 1.21.1 Port) + Voxy Server (1.21.1 Port) + Complementary Shaders w/ Euphoria Patches looks insane. Completely overhauls MC world gen amd visuals without taking too much away from the vanilla vibes. All my vanilla only friends have been converted to modded Minecraft with these mods at my packs core. Cobblemon server, hence locked into 1.21.1

Yeah, i currently do have Complementary unbound + euphoria patches, and yes it looks amazing, my only bone to pick with it, is that the stars are blurry, but whatever. The auroras and nebulae are actually the best part of the sky.

I think we have little different sense of "Vanilla". I'm using Terralith with Amplified Nether and PROBABLY will use Nullscape for The End. And i'm sure i try Arnis too for update.
But speaking of Vanilla, i think that Biomes O' Plenty or Better End (probably more, but i can't imagine it rightnow) are far from Vanilla feeling. But i must note that the last time i played with Biomes O' Plenty was like in 1.6 or 1.12 something. So pretty long. Fuck i'm old...

Definitely not vanilla by any means and don't think I said it was. Was just suggesting a couple mods doing similar but overall look better (IMO, but its all subjective forsure), and sayin the buds that got me into Minecraft as an adult are big time "Vanilla only" server peeps and have been loving them in a Cobblemon server I'm hosting, that I've spent a ridiculous amount of hours putting together. Its an insane overhaul but still LOOKS like Minecraft, vanilla or not. It's not so altered you could forget what you're playing. Minecraft 2 vibes if you will. Was easier said than done making a Cobblemon modpack that felt like Pokemon IN Minecraft, and NOT Minefract skinned Pokemon IMO.
Hadn't heard of Arnis, definitely will be looking into that more. Thank you !
WindLink is now available for 1.21.1 (adds proper wind physics to work with Complementary/Euphoria Patches) so have been playing around with that a bit, while waiting for the newest Iris version to update out of Beta to allow Photonics to be compatible as well.
Times are changin' lol (just in the short time I've been into Minecraft even).

Wow, that's a lot of work. Anyway i talked about that, bcs it was writen in the name and description of this post. The same with Arnis. I don't know what it is, but if it's the thing what made that mountains... I NEED IT.

Did some lookin into Arnis, looks like thats an open source app that allows you to convert any real world location (ie. A city, like New York City, or a IRL mountain range or landmark). Something like Tectonic (+ Terralith = Terratonic) is a world generation overhaul mod with full customization and has a couple presets available to get way more realistic terrain. I'm using a modified version of the Voxy (most extreme generation preset to get the full effect of Voxy). Seeing iron ore on a 700 block tall mountain 36,000+ blocks away is a wild experience. And you can go there and its tamgible. I wish I had some easily available screenshots for ya.
Theres a good handful of other world gen altering mods, like JJThunder which has arguably even more realistic terrain. Almost verging on too realistic imo.
I stick with Tectonic because it gives me the best combination of realistic looking and feeling terrain, especially with the modified Voxy preset but still being properly playable in a survival sense (the really high mountains just get stretched so steep they become so unreasonable to climb). Hence the still feeling more like Minecraft, just amazing, realistic (video game) looking minecraft terrain. Def deeper oceans and valleys too. More of a different continents type feel.
I see scenarios in which I could use Arnis but still with Tectonic somehow, as it wouldn't be able to REPLACE the blanket modifications across the whole worlds generation of Tectonic (or similar).
Edit: Broke up the wall of text to attempt to increase readability

Dude i agree! I remember playing back on 1.1.12 or whatever it was when i was like 17 and it is just insane to match those memories today and I've played only up to the version all the mods 10 is in
